Todays CG is from todays The Arkansas Gazette.
DA HLZ AWWCE NW GWH TWGHXWC HLZ MWXCN, DH DEGH SZTKBEZ HLZR KXZ GWH DG HLZ YKIWXDHR. ZNQKX MKHEWG LWMZ
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays cryptogram. If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Solution to our last puzzle:
THIS WORLD IS FULL OF CONFLICTS AND FULL OF THINGS THAT CANNOT BE RECONCILED. LEONARD COHEN
2 min.
Contraction, 1st 2 words, 4th word...
Yeah, another quickie.....we need a longie
Two minutes.
Very true :-D Nice and simple.
MY MY,
How they try.
Remember only about 1/3 of the country supported the USA way back when.
Well at least only about 1/3 of the people actually stood up and did something about it.
Always remember the ‘poem’ about ‘ONE GUN’
Of course, one mans terrorist is another mans ‘Freedom Fighter’
Like the man once said ‘it takes about 200 years for Democracy to run its course, after that the have nots figure if they band together they can ‘take over’ the haves’ (OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT)
I cannot say that I agree with the author’s premise.
Did it in my head, again! Two days in a row. The giveaway is DH DEGH SZTKBEZ. Once I guessed SZTKBEZ it was easy. DA HLZ AWWCE comes naturally.
It takes longer without pencil or computer, but I am beginning to enjoy the challenge. I had to spell out the middle name of the author letter by letter.
Good one!
ROFL, once again so timely and true.
Mebbe five minutes. Funny when you get a likely stream of words going, only to see later how wrong they were.
