ITALY
In Italy, since the beginning of the Coronavirus epidemic, 63,927 people have contracted the Sars-CoV-2 virus (4,789 more people than yesterday for an 8.1% growth). The data were provided by the Civil Protection. Of these, 6,077 died (+601, + 11%) and 7,432 died (408, + 5.8%). Currently there are 50,418 positive subjects (the bill rises to 63,927 - as mentioned above - if there are also dead and healed in the calculation, that is, counting all the people who have been found positive to the virus since the beginning of the epidemic).
Here the experts explain how long it will take to understand if the restrictions work, here instead what are the predictions regarding the peak. This is the map of contagion in Italy.
The patients hospitalized with symptoms are 20,692; 3,204 are in intensive care (+195, 6.8%), while 26,522 are in fiduciary home isolation.

ROME The death toll from an outbreak of coronavirus in Italy has grown by 602 to 6,078, the head of the Civil Protection Agency said on Monday, an 11% increase but the smallest rise in numerical terms since Thursday, suggesting a clear downward trend.
On Sunday, 651 people died. That followed 793 on Saturday and 627 on Friday.
The total number of confirmed cases in Italy rose to 63,927 on Monday from a previous 59,138, an increase of 8%, the Civil Protection Agency said the lowest rise in percentage terms since the contagion came to light on Feb. 21.
No 66 cases are just now being confirmed. They have been infected for days most likely.
NY still approximately doubles every two days...
Coronavirus cases top 20,000 in New York, with 12,000 in NYC
Surely Cuomo and de Blasio warrant some blame?

Of note: CA has almost twice the population, a larger Asian community and truly serves as the gateway to China.
And CA is just under 2,000 cases.
From the looks of the epidemic numbers, traffic and demographics out there, we’re going to need a lot of forklifts, backhoes, dump trucks and garbage trucks soon. I doubt we’ll be able to keep up with the hawks, coyotes, eagles and pets, though.

Coronavirus death toll at Lambeth House climbs to 8; one resident tests positive posthumously
BY JOHN SIMERMAN AND RAMON ANTONIO VARGAS | Staff writers MAR 23, 2020 - 11:40 AM
A 90-year-old man whose death last week at Lambeth House in New Orleans was deemed by the retirement home to be completely unrelated to the deadly coronavirus cluster there has since tested positive, his daughter said Monday.
Lydia Buckley said she received the news in a phone call Monday morning from Dr. Alex Billioux, assistant state health secretary. Her father, Frank Williams, had died Friday, shortly after midnight, in his room on the third floor in St. Annas, the nursing care section of Lambeth House.
...
Williams is now among at least eight people, all men, to die over less than a week at the retirement community on Broadway near the Mississippi River from COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, which has been striking the elderly with particularly fatal force.

Some failures are so epic they cannot be hidden under any and all circumstances.
De Blasio and Cuomo will never hold a nationwide office and maybe not even statewide.
A family of 3 in Wuhan tested positive again after being discharged from the hospital and declared cured. Symptoms of the 70 year old are worse than before. Similar stories with other patients, heres the Official Chinese report:

Aunt Betty Lou won’t be cleaning those hotel rooms. Trained workers in PPEs will do the cleaning.
OTOH, the county officials here were laughing about the 15 days and were lamenting over lost tourist $$$ so told the locals who can’t stay home a few days to move into all our empty vacation rentals. Disgusting. Those cleaners and managers don’t have PPEs. But gotta get those tax dollars.
WORLD: 354,677 cases, 15,436 deaths, 100,462 recovered, 238,779 unresolved. Globally, DCR 4.4%, CFR 13.3%
US: 35,530 cases, 451 deaths, 189 recovered, 34,890 unresolved. Now broken down by county, with deaths reported in over 100 different counties, mostly singles. New York City, NY and King County, WA make up around 45% of the deaths. Nationally, DCR 1.3%, CFR 70.4%.
SOUTH KOREA: 8,961 cases, 111 deaths, 3,166 recovered, 5,684 unresolved. DCR 1.2%, CFR 3.4%.
DIAMOND PRINCESS: 712 cases (a change from the earlier reports?) At least 9 dead. 8 listed as Diamond Princess, 1 listed as US, Diamond Princess (must be one of the ones brought home). 567 recovered, 136 still unresolved. DCR 1.3%, CFR 1.6%.
Over time the DCR and CFR will converge (as cases resolve). A measure of how early in the outbreak we are is the difference between them. [US early, World still chuggin’ along, SK pretty far along, DP nearly done. This is only a rule of thumb and precludes new significant outbreaks.] There is a great deal of chaos in the data at the moment, due to different reporting criteria and the efforts of some governments to hide the numbers. We can’t count China or Iran as honest. Nor Italy as they have stopped reporting and China has “intervened”. (Suddenly Italy has no more deaths. Right.) Next best foreign source to measure for worst case scenario appears to be Spain. Best case scenario SK.
Mostly we should go by our own stats in the US versus SK as a yardstick.
