Maybe a couple of things. They are unlikely to have prepped for hard times. They are projecting their fears and panic. They exist a couple of standard deviations to the left of the bell shape curve. They are narcissist and confuse freedom with liberty. Math is hard. They are definitely not systems thinkers and lack any scientific curiosity.

My feeling compassion for them ends with them infecting others.

Both my wife and I shared the same foreboding back in December. Everything else after that was predictive and proactive. Most people are reactive. Anything that indicates reactive behavior is insufficient becomes a threat to people’s normalcy world.

Medical school? Imagine them on a 4 year residents call schedule?

I’ve been cleaning out cabinets, drawers and closets.

I’ve taken out several YUGE lawn bags of stuff.

Now, I’m reorganizing stuff.

We had a delivery order, from Costco. We had delivery person leave at door, waited a little while, then wiped all items down with Lysol wipes and/or bleach wipes (we made), before putting away.

We’re set, but wanted some fruit and veggies (some fresh/some frozen).

Hey Robert, the flu has been endemic in the world since humans were created. Some strains are worse than others (Spanish Flu) and the various H1N1 strains that we see. Humans are accustomed to losing loved ones to the flu. It’s part of life. Vaccines exist to combat this ancient illness.

This virus arrives, it is new, and most likely made by Chinese bioweapons researchers in Wuhan using CRISPR technology that they have appropriated from the West. Our societal norms of genetics are not applicable this time, as a China doesn’t subscribe to our code of decency. That is one of the West’s greatest failings, we pretend that our thought process is superior and that all other cultures want to be like us.

No. All other cultures want to destroy us, simply because we succeed and give our citizens God given rights. This is antithetical to Eastern thoughts.

Trying to equate the arrival of this new pathogen to an ancient and endemic one is exactly what our enemy requires for success. Please, go about life as normal while their weapon renders and decimates our society and economy, while the enemy who deployed this weapon continues its quarantine to emerge unscathed. They count on us to be selfish and only worry about money - after all, it is our desire to hoard our money that makes us buy the cheap crap which they produce for us.

Sun Tzu is the guiding principle of Chinese thought. This is merely the current manifestation.

So I just watched GA governor Kemp’s briefing. He ordered a mandatory stay at home for all high risk people, no public gatherings more than 10 and closed bars and nightclubs.

I don’t feel this is enough, considering we rank 4th I think now on cv19 deaths.

Ask (ICU), and you shall receive. Seriously, why am I the only cranking out these projections? You guys come up with scenarios, and then sit around speculating with -0- information.

Assumptions: 3 ICU beds per CV fatal (1/3 succumb, 2/3 are released); 3 day occupancy (before fatal/discharge). Multiply cumulative gross fatals x 3, lag by 4 days, produce net-net.

I have no idea what US ICU capacity is - either current, coming on-line within 24-48 hours, or additional staged in backlog. If anyone has that number, we can run it against projected ICU demand.

3-4 days? That’s the pre flu rate. Four rate intubation and vent is 10-14 days.

It goes off the scale pretty quickly.
