A 12-year-old girl is fighting for her life at an Atlanta hospital after testing positive for coronavirus, according to a report.
Justin Anthony said his cousin Emma was placed on a ventilator Saturday after being confirmed positive the day before for the virus, CNN reported.
She initially was diagnosed with pneumonia on March 15, only to receive test results days later for the virus, according to the report.
Anthony said his young cousin is fighting for her life despite having no pre-existing conditions that would put her at higher risk for the infectious disease, the outlet reported.
he 12-year-old has not recently traveled and its unclear how she contracted the dangerous bug, he said.
Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta-Scottish Rite Hospital confirmed that a patient has tested positive for the virus but provided no further details, CNN reported.
The patient remains in isolation, and we have consistently used appropriate precautions, hospital spokeswoman Jessica Pope told the outlet. Additional details will not be released due to patient privacy laws.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a study earlier in the week that less than 1% of the hospitalized cases were patients age 19 or younger
Georgia has confirmed more than 600 cases as the virus has spread to at least 30,000 people across the country, according to figures from John Hopkins University.

This must be fake news . . . .
It could mutate into being more benign.
They need to let people go back to work.
Only quarantine the high risk people.
I pray that the dr treats her with remdesivir and chloroquine. - And she recovers.
The virus will likely mutate and become weaker......
Prayer up for the girl.
sketchy reporting, what a surprise
I’m sure CNN worked out a deal with the hospital that she only receives FDA-approved treatment otherwise CNN wouldn’t run the story. Can’t have ‘Trump’s Katrina’ without lots suffering and bodies to show on CNN.
Let's let Herr Cuomo take control and order whatever he wants.
Type A blood?
It’s easy to just declare “no pre-existing conditions,” but if someone’s reaction to the virus is atypically bad for their age group, it may be a matter of “previously undiscovered pre-existing conditions.” Viruses like this really knock out people who are already in a weakened state. For a 12 year old, what could that be? Undernourishment, eating disorders, existing respiratory infection due to cold, allergy, etc. There are many possibilities.
Right.
The normal progression is mutation to a weaker disease.
We should definitely pray for that.
Ping.
As expected from the Post. ACJ has a bit more background. Kid had been running a fever with multiple visits to the ER. Just as likely its one of those visits where she actually came in contact with the virus.
She initially was diagnosed with pneumonia on March 15...
Maybe she did have pneumonia and this just added on...
now my complaint about Hippa.....Hippa allows for almost anything or nothing to be said....situations can be colored anyway someone wants....
I still do not believe anything Tom Hanks say....and nobody but nobody can prove otherwise...
Goes against everything Ive read.

Why would it do that?
