The country of Poland just approved these “anecdotal” drugs for treatment of the virus. We should send Dr Fraud to China.

Follow the money.

Hydroxycholorquine costs about $20 for one month’s supply. It is a generic drug manufactured by several companies. It has been approved and in use since 1955 for malaria and other diseases. It is unlikely that drug companies will pay for clinical trials in view of limited profit potential.

Remdesivir is a proprietary experimental drug developed by one major medical company, Gilead Science. It has not been approved for use at all, but is being clinically tested, apparently sponsored by Gilead Science. Estimated cost for one month’s supply is $1,000. There is a high profit potential if this drug is ultimately approved.

Is it any wonder that the drug industry is trying to slow the use of Hydroxycholoroquine to maintain a market for
remdesivir after it finishes clinical trials?

The FDA has long had a symbiotic relationship with the drug industry, which some might view as incestuous, or worse. It is possible that the FDA is complicit in delaying use of hydroxychloroquine to allow a window of opportunity for the profit from Remdesivir.

Here Are All the Drugs Proving Anecdotally Effective Against COVID-19...

Jack Daniels

Boy I was really sick one time in my 20s but decided to go to the shore and drink with buddies anyway.

Had a load of JD shots.

Must have slept for 12 hours and woke up fine.

At 51, it might not work so well

I’m surprised the author didn’t mention the combination of hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) with Azithromycin which seems to have the greatest efficacy.

It still works. No virus is gonna touch you when you’re 10 ft tall and bullet proof.

Not a drug, but I heard zinc is great at warding off viruses. Of course, it’s completely sold out in the store.

An overlooked benefit of using hydroxvhloroquine with a zinc supplement is the ‘resistance factor’. The way the hydroxychloroquine as an ionophore for the zinc, viruses should not develop /mutate resistant strains ... the kill is a physical action within your cells, not a blocked pathway into your cells.

1. The article departed reality when it categorically claimed there were no antibodies built up in the population. There has been no testing to determine that.

2. Hydroxychloroquine can be obtained over the counter, and is being put into production. I know of people who have already started taking it.

It does work. But it can cause blindness and other problems even death. Its good as one of an arsenal of drugs. But its not something you give until you have few options left. The public should not rely on it. But its nice to have. Trump is right. But Fauci is not wrong either.

We need clinical trials of medicines and supplements that are independent of Pharmaceutical companies.

We might already be funding some through Universities.

Don’t ever read an MSDS for common chemicals, they’ll scare you to death. Millions of soldiers have take chloroquine and hyrdoxychloroquine with minimal problems, as have people visiting regions that are actively malaria. The side effect rate is very low.

I took two 200 mg doses of HCQ daily for ~15 years for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Got my eyes checked annually: no retinopathy, no prob.

HCQ + Z-pack can yield complete viral eradication, quite safe over a 6-day course (as compared to my 15 year course), and can be prescribed off-label by MD's for COVID-19 patients who need it NOW.

YMMV, and I would never guess on dosing without MD supervision, but it's an encouraging sign of hope.

The author seems unwilling to admit that some of the drugs have way more than anecdotal support for their efficacy.

Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) with Azithromycin has a small scale open label test with a control group that showed efficacy. The safety profile of those drugs is well known.

That combination of drugs does not require any compassionate use exemption, since both drugs are FDA approved, and Azithromycin is widely recommended for treatment of pneumonia.

It is misleading for the article's author to suggest only anecdotal evidence exists, there are multiple clinical studies from China with positive results as well.

Do not try this at home...

Of chloroquine and COVID-19
Antiviral Research
Volume 177, May 2020, 104762

...the margin between the therapeutic and toxic dose is narrow and chloroquine poisoning has been associated with cardiovascular disorders that can be life-threatening (Frisk-Holmberg et al., 1983). Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine use should therefore be subject to strict rules, and self-treatment is not recommended.
