With China covering up Covid-19 and not getting the word out to the world, they should pay a long-term price for destroying economies and lives.
President Trump should get together with other nations hit hard by this virus (European countries, Japan etc) and have all agree to slap a 50% tax on everything exported from China. That tariff will pay for the bonds issued to jump start the economies.
China needs to pay for what they have done this time and cannot be given a pass. This was 100% preventable but China CHOSE not to do so.
Oh I think we can. Bring those, and other manufacturing back to the USA.
They are going to need to make good on the damage they have caused the world by intentionally inflicting the virus on the rest of the world.
China government entities holds a huge fraction of our National Debt. The costs of this fiasco should be offset against national debt to China
40% tariffs on all things China forever. Helps pay for this plus all their intellectual property thievery.
President Trump tweaked their nipples with the trade deals and is readying the "Chinese Ball Vise".

Get stock for bailing out companies. When the market rebounds, sell it. Would dilute the value of existing shares, but they wouldn’t drop to zero. Probably simplistic, but maybe a good direction.

It’s been said that we can’t compete on wages and government regulations on manufacturing start-ups, etc.
Whether or not that’s the case, there are plenty of other countries in Asia and elsewhere that can make things and also are not China.
