The best video i’ve seen in years
I started prepping weeks ago very slowly. I’m guessing 4 weeks so I’m fully stocked on everything to cover that length. Any longer and I’m in trouble, too. I have a pantry I made from the stairway to the basement and I’ve moved older cans out to storage boxes since I’ve read that you can keep cans 3-6 years past their dates. Notice I’m using handholds instead of a railing to not block the shelves I had installed between studs.

I wish I could do art but all I can do is design space, so I think of the rooms as sculptures that I can stand in the middle of. I use studs everywhere I can.

That’s my favorite room. Took me several years. I finished all the boards in a way I’ve never seen done before and the crews sometimes used numbers on the back like a jigsaw puzzle to put them up. I hate being told what I can’t do. So when the store said you have to paint poplar, I determined to find a way to keep the magnificent grain. Then I had clerks pull all the boards out of bins so I’d find the amazing boards that gravitated to the back of the bin as rejects. When I’d find an extraordinary board, we’d rip it and glue junk on the back so I could do reflections. Then I’d cover the joins with walnut.

It looks like you put a LOT of effort into it.
Well, mine NOW looks like your tornado came up my way, too. I’m a perfectionist, as you can tell from the videos. So I built those boards alone in the room at 3 in the morning. The little bathroom is cherry, and I designed it so I could lift the pieces of wall. I spread small lawn tables outside and put the walls on them, then kept moving them with the sun for a week so that they’d sun color.

I’m a designer. It doesn’t matter what I work in - computer language design, videos, walls, books. I build theories in my mind and love watching them turn concrete. My favorite theory is “once is a bug, twice is a feature.” Works for everything, not just language design. Fear I’m far too stubborn by nature to allow anyone but husband to have a part in the fun.
He was always giving and caring for those in need.
He’s STILL a great guy. Because we have videos, he will always be alive for us, and growing older gracefully. He’ll be as young for us as Marilyn Monroe.
I think my wife has sold 23 dozen in the last couple days.
Got our hens going full out and offering laying incentives for ones that can do it on the quiet. Hard not to scream when the thing the size of an egg is coming out your arse...
If I showed respect on this thread, then I’d have to do it for others and others..and then i wouldn’t be me.
