I started prepping weeks ago very slowly. I’m guessing 4 weeks so I’m fully stocked on everything to cover that length. Any longer and I’m in trouble, too. I have a pantry I made from the stairway to the basement and I’ve moved older cans out to storage boxes since I’ve read that you can keep cans 3-6 years past their dates. Notice I’m using handholds instead of a railing to not block the shelves I had installed between studs.
