With influenza increasing in our area and the threat of CV-19, we have initiated a sterilization protocol for when we have to re-enter our home from outside trips.
We apparently had it in our area, I guess it went through the schools, but I never knew anyone who was sick and I did not catch it this year. Thank God.
Regardless, I am not *scared* but neither am I stupid or foolhardy.
This thing can have some pretty nasty consequences that I just am not in a frame of mind to deal with, and since no one knows for sure who that’s going to be, I’d just as soon not go there.
I bought a bunch of Everclear - 95% ethanol.
Sanitizer, fuel, drink. Cheap and stores well.
That will certainly work inside and out...:)
You can find “denatured alcohol” or “stove fuel” at hardware stores. It’s 93% or so ethanol. Not safe for beverages, however.

When I need to sterilize, I first rinse off with hot water.
Then I add maybe a tablespoon or two of StarSan.
Mix and swish around, being sure to get splashing all over.
Rinse somewhat with hot water.
Let air-dry.
Make beer/mead/wine.
Repeat.

Add Zinc and Elderberry, IMHO.
And, don’t use a store cart child’s seat for a handbag. The bottom of a purse is filthy and a cross-contaminant.

You forgot your clothing which could be harboring all kinds of nasty bugs. Strip and set up a decontamination shower in the garage-after you close the door of course.
In Taiwan you have to walk though a tented area which had a mist of something spraying on you to enter the stores that are open.
Denatured alcohol in paint or camping department, 70+ %. (High octane booze with methanol added to make it undrinkable.) For surfaces, not skin.
I prefer stripping off my clothes directly to the washer in the basement, then excessively pouring Everclear in my mouth, so as to also rinse my body. Splash some over my head, start the washer, air dry for a bit, then make something tasty and watch a pandemic movie...

Be even more careful with the alcohol. Electronic devices, even with very low current, can light it up.
About forty years ago, give or take, I’d done some particularly dirty mechanical work on a vehicle for many hours. Poured only a little gasoline on the grease spots on my clothing and let it evaporate until apparently dry. Put the clothes in the washer and started it.
Oops. Boom! It only blew the washer lid open and flamed out, but it was loud.
again...not sterilization....
