With influenza increasing in our area and the threat of CV-19, we have initiated a sterilization protocol for when we have to re-enter our home from outside trips.
Best tip: Keep a clean rag on your counter with an alcohol filled sprayer. Soak the top and just crunch your fingers through the moisture making sure it gets every where on hands/fingers. Takes maybe 10 seconds.
That’s extremely, perhaps anally, thorough.
But, as Andy Grove said, “Only the paronoid survive.”
How many cases recorded in your Zone ?
Related ... I always, virus or not, spray kitchen counters, cutting boards, etc. with a bleach solution. Plenty of bugs in raw chicken to require this, so I just made it a habit for all things years ago.
Do you really want to expose your body to purell?
I read that book.
I agree with being safe. Please be cautious regarding the flamability of alcohol, especially when spraying it. The vapor can be ignited by a static spark.
No Nitrile gloves in your protocol?
Otherwise loos good.
The problem here (NorCal) is you cannot find Purell anywhere. I tried to buy the ingredients to make it at home, but they are sold out, too.
Polish vodka...95% alcohol.
I feel so sorry for you.....
"What is this symbol?"
"It's a germ."
Can’t you just keep drinking lots of Vodka and sterilize from the inside out??
Yes, it is anal, but the regular flu and colds are more prevalent this year in our area. CV-19 threads have made us more aware of the increase of influenza and colds. Yes, we both got flu shots.
I asked what is the contamination/infection rate in his area which should determine degree of decontamination and what is a bit over the tops.
Let me know if you get sick.
Then I can give up all hope. :)
you misuse the word “sterilization”...what you do is not sterilization....aseptic technique maybe.
Covid-19 is slowly increasing in South OC, CA. One case in Mission Viejo and one case in Rancho Santa Margarita - a couple more in north county. Again, our protocol is mostly about the flue/colds.
You seem pretty scared.
What is wrong with Purell? It's active ingredient is isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Never heard of Purell causing any health issues.
