I just looked at my state’s unemployment and the most one can receive is $240/week. I think they need to keep their jobs.

My guess is that state unemployment will be beefed up bigtime.

Yes, I think that is happening.

That will pay for 1/2 a month of health insurance.

I saw $1000 per adult, $500 a child. Family of 4 $3000 perhaps multiple times. Shoot, I’m retired and won’t miss a check and I get $1000.

You realize the compensation isn’t going to be available to random workers that walk off the job.

This is about folks who are forced by the government to quit working and drawing a paycheck. I don’t know of anyone who has considered this type of scenario.

They’re just going home due to the Wuhan Flu crisis

They are doing so because various levels of governments have dictated that certain establishments not be open.

You incorrectly called this virus a flu. This is not a flu virus, as the flu is only caused by members of the influenza family, though it acts and has similar symptoms of the flu. Corona viruses are members of the Coronaviridae family.

Believe me most want to work. I would never have done this. I would have kept everything open and just deal with the sick. We survived H1N1 with out closing one thing. Yes we lost 18,000 but kept the economy. This is a mess.

1K might cover part of one mortgage payment.

I think that's the plan.

If President Trump expects this essentially shelter-in-place to last for only one month, then this would cover the rent/mortgage and groceries for a family of four for one month.

What’s funny is big happy liberal California has the lowest unemployment max at 450.00 a week. I find that hilarious since they think they are so pure and perfect.

The first bill had some language in in (according to HR) that people who felt it was not safe to work can leave without being fired.

So far, no one at my plant has done that but HQ is totally bugged out. All working from home. Which is great for them, but you can’t work a plant from home.

In my last job, about half the work force would walk out for that.

I mean drop what they were doing and walk the F off.

Most of them were VERY angry they were “enslaved” with a job anyway.

Voluntary quits don’t get state unemployment, right?

Nope. Looked it up today after I was told I was being laid off.

In a bad mood right now.
