Grace Fusco — mother of 11, grandmother of 27 — would sit in the same pew at church each Sunday, surrounded by nearly a dozen members of her sprawling Italian-American family. Sunday dinners drew an even larger crowd to her home in central New Jersey.
Now, her close-knit clan is united anew by unspeakable grief: Mrs. Fusco, 73, died on Wednesday night after contracting the coronavirus — hours after her son died from the virus and five days after her daughter’s death, a relative said.
Four other children who contracted coronavirus remain hospitalized, three of them in critical condition, the relative, Roseann Paradiso Fodera, said.

Because the transmission rates of coronavirus is way, way more than influenza, because the death rate is higher and because, unlike influenza, there is no cure for it yet

Isn’t also interesting that these people pushing coronavirus as the next plague, never like to discuss H1N1 (Swine Flu) from 2009? Why didn’t that merit a shutdown of our entire economy? We had well over 1,000 Americans die from that, and I’ll guarantee none of these people currently aching for all American businesses to be shut down even batted an eye during that virus. The media provided minimal coverage of Swine Flu, and when they did it was to heap praise on the Kenyan! The media provided a blackout for H1N1, just like they are creating hysteria for COVID-19!

The “flu death rate” is a completely irrelevant argument that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the issue at hand. You could pull up those same stats for Italy and other countries on the flu - that doesn’t matter a hill of beans to what coronavirus is doing one way or the other as it did not cause these issues the coronavirus obviously is causing in those countries putting their healthcare system on the brink of collapse and the seasonal flu did NOT cause.

My parents moved to Santa Barbara back in 1974.
I myself went to college in L.A. and lived in Santa Barbara also. A total of 17 years in Southern California, back when it was still paradise on Earth. It’s a shame what has happened to that (formerly) wonderful state.
I’ve been in Maine since 1992. The weather is not as good as California, but there is more elbow room and more freedom.
I noticed from your other posts you mentioned Ventura County. I’ve been there many times, back in the day. I loved going to those air shows every October at Pt. Mugu Naval Air Station.
