Several weeks ago, I started work on a Monday with a sore throat and headache. I was doing a final review of my high rise building in anticipation of the Fire Marshall's visit that week.
Tuesday, I was sick as a dog. Raging fever, aches and chills, migraine, and a persistent, dry cough. Used Dayquil and Nyquil to dampen the effects and clear my system.
By Wednesday, I was at my doctor's office. I tested negative for the flu. Blood pressure and temperature were way up. They gave me a cocktail booster shots, ciprofloxacin, and prednisone. Doctor ordered chest x-rays. I had those done the same day.
On Thursday, my son drove me to the doctor for my chest xray results. No pneumonia. Doctor told me to return or go to the hospital if I got worse.
By Friday night I was at the hospital with chest and lung pain so severe, I thought I was having a heart attack. More chest x-rays and an MRI on my lungs. My body temp was a shockingly low 96.6. BP up by 50%. Blood oxygen level would drop to 80% every time I had a coughing fit.
IV meds, more steroids, and sent back home. The cough finally loosened up and my strength started to return. They diagnosed it as an upper respiratory condition.
I made it to work on Monday and Tuesday, but was out sick with more fever, aches, chills on Wednesday.
Missed another day the following week for the same reason.
Finally had a good week where I didn't crash and made it through the weekend instead of sleeping and coughing the whole time. Was able to deep clean my house, tackle the mountain of laundry, cook for my family, and spend time with my kids and husband.
Last week, I started feeling weak again. Cough was coming back. Made it through the week but crashed all weekend with a rolling fever. Pain returned to my lungs, shortness of breath...here we go again! My urine was also turning cloudy and dark.
Doctor told me to go to the hospital. My son, whose college had shut down and whose office is closed, drove me there. More tests.
This time, my lung xray showed pneumonia. The Doctor also wanted me to follow up with a pulmonologist for possible COPD. The same tests a month ago showed my lungs as clear!
They would not test me for coronovirus.
I don't want to self-diagnose, but I think they are missing the boat here.
I usually bounce back from things fairly quickly and have a high pain threshold. I did 15 hours of labor natural with my son but that chest and lung pain still ranks as the worst of my life.
Can you please remember me in your prayers? I've already used up my accumulated sick/vacation time and won't get paid for this week. Also, now that my son's office is closed, he will need my help meeting his bills so he can keep his savings for his next semester in college.
Thanks.
I cant believe this still needs to be explained.
The patient can have CV, and the treatment doesnt change. There is no treatment unless she has respiratory failure.
I pray for her recovery as well. But not every case of the flu is COvid. Isnt that what everyone is saying? If her symptoms match the primary ones listed in my other post she could have all sorts of viral or bacterial infection.
That sounds exactly like corona virus. They NEED to test you. You NEED to be firm about that.
DEMAND A TEST in my opinion this sounds like coronavirus God Bless you and take care you are in my prayers
Got any Vicks around the house?
That helps me a LOT to not bronchitis.
Praying!
Wife had something like that a. Few weeks ago. Doc called it Bronchitis.
Apparently ibprophen and other nsaids are a no no. Drop your immune response.
Get a blood check for valley fever, also check for mycoplasma pneumonia
There is a post/thread about no ibuprofen for kids with wuhuflu.
You can only push yourself so far, so please be careful! You are in my prayers. A neighbor of mine was in and out of the hospital last year, problems breathing, etc. They tried steroids, breathing treatments, etc., and it took a while for them to diagnose her with COPD. Her son has it too. She’s better now, but it took quite a while to get there. Don’t overdo it.
I had what appears to be the same symptoms. I was sick from the end of December until early February. I already had COPD and this illness made me so sick. I took prednisone, two rounds of antibiotics and still was sick. The doctor gave up on me. I did what I could and finally got better.....but.....I still have breathing issues and have had some bad days since then.
Everyone of my family who attended our Christmas Day dinner became ill within days. We older ones were hit hardest.
“But then again the didnt have the test.”

Sounded like they did when I read it.
At any rate, it would still be a good idea to be tested, but I understand from what I’ve read it’s still very tough to qualify.
One plus thing if a person is on the slow mend from a nasty tango with CV, is that it should lend some immunity.
Our prayers are being sent for you. Stay strong, in faith and in all ways. Keep in the know that He is always with you.
Prayers starting and will continue.
Ringing in your ears is just us praying for you!
Please keep us posted. We care.
Actually, having a cv diagnosis doesn’t change your treatment, unless you are one of the lucky remdesivir or plasma transfusion candidates. If the COVID-10 swab test didn’t exist it still would have no impact on your treatment at this point.
What it does do is tells the health/legal system to quarantine or medically isolate you. It is for the benefit of other people, not you. The treatment decisions are more based on results of the chest radiograph/ct and to some extent fever and other signs.
Father God,
You know every need of this freeper TWTX. In these times of uncertainty, be her ever-present guide and waymaker. May any obstacles to her accurate diagnosis and proper medical care be removed,
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

I can’t believe you missed where they stated they had pneumonia (you said: COvid is lower respiratory).
I can’t believe you missed where they stated they have tested negative for flu.
Prayers up for you aND yours.
Did you see your labs? There are some indicators in them that may be missing that would point toward Covid-19. You obviously caught something and sars -cov-2 is not the only thing that can cause your symptoms. Hope no copd! Prayers and love over to you!
prayers up.
