Treating flu symptoms doesn’t really shorten the illness. Anti-virals can, but not OTC stuff like Mucinex. “Fitness Freak” had a cold or some other mild virus, not the flu. But he sounds a lot tougher calling it the flu. Look at all the folks, even here on FR, claiming “I think got COVID-19 back in Nov/Dec/Jan, and it was no big deal”. A year from now, everyone who had a minor cold in 2020 will be claiming they had CV. The more time passes, the worse there case will get.

They WERE.
Still are.
I posted a link to a listing of every state and some of their quarantine regulations.
In 3 states it’s a straight up felony to break quarantine.
They must not have HIPA over there. I need to know medical histories before I panic.

Thank you, Lord, that most of us, here, are prepared....for a while, I pray. 🙏🏻
Crusty:
I will tell you a little secret—as far as the virus is concerned, being alive is a “pre-existing condition”.
What an ignorant statement to make about Italy....HIPPA laws....as if there are ANY laws, in a melted down, nationalized healthcare system.
Some folks, eh?
Ignore that old troll ;-)

Appreciate your chart.
I sure would like to see “deaths per day” recorded somewhere.
It tells the most about covid IMO ( of course I’m too lazy to do it).
Also it would make a great metric for those who compare covid damage to the flu. But never seen that metric for the flu.
It’s so hard to get usable info. Appreciate those who try to present it.
NY
New York officials say the states coronavirus total has jumped to 1,700, with at least 19% hospitalized.
They said the number of cases will continue to rise as the state receives more test results.
New York has 53,000 hospital beds and 3,000 ICU beds, far short of what state health officials are predicting will be needed, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said.
Thanks..
I suspected as much.
Some people are a bunch of narcissistic babies.
Just because this hasn’t been done in 100 years or so doesn’t mean it isn’t perfectly legal.
Use of force is authorized under every state penal code to enforce quarantine. Even though the penalty for breaking quarantine varies from misdemeanor to felony.
That means if you are dumb enough to resist, they can hurt you. The more you resist, the more hurt you get.
Of course everyone is free to challenge these orders in a higher court. But getting there might take months and months. Once you get there it is likely the ruling would favor the government due to properly enacted law and “emergency”.
It’s not a good idea for anyone to violate quarantine, or, especially, to resist its enforcement. You’re not likely to enjoy the outcome.
Common sense.
Well, good for them, I guess.
They do look almost like an island, with only one side of their county touching land/adjacent county.
Or 6.6X bigger 330M vs 51M. 6.6 is pretty close to 100, so easy mistake.
Have you gone to Worldometers? Their charts, graphs, and tables are daily records.
