Max and Mel Brooks doing a short (and sweet) public service announcement about how to protect yourself against the coronavirus. It is very well done.

I posted this mainly because it was good to see comedian (and Battle of the Bulge vet) Mel Brooks looking so well.

Wow. 93, and he looks spry enough to get one more Blazing Saddles or Young Frankenstein out of him. Good on ya, mate.

I don’t like Brooks but will admit he is talented and was a combat veteran of WWII.

Max Brooks is awesome.
I highly recommend his books “The Zombie Survival Guide,” and “World War Z”
Especially the audiobooks.

Look up some of his college lectures, too. Hilarious!

An interviewer once asked Mel Brooks what the Battle of the Bulge was like. “It was very noisy,” Brooks said. “I could hardly get any reading done.”

He was in the same Combat Engineering group as my father.

Now that we’re under quarantine here, I might just have to dust off these old classics for a good laugh. Either that, or we’ll just go meshugga!

Back in the mid 80s I saw Mel jogging around Bel Air.

Wow. Then you might appreciate this Mel Brooks quote: “I was a Combat Engineer. Isn’t that ridiculous? The two things I hate most in the world are combat and engineering.”

So, Randall Flagg is recommending World War Z? There's a wonderful irony there...

I heartily agree, BTW. I reread that when this thing started and it was pretty dang good, but a little unrealistic. I mean, come on, a plague originating in China that spreads through airline travel to infect the world? Could that ever happen?

Oh, wait...

He sure does look well and his son looked extremely young for his age as also. What do you suppose is the secret to their youth?
