"Don’t believe the numbers when you see, even on our Johns Hopkins website, that 1,600 Americans have the virus,” he said. “No, that means 1,600 got the test, tested positive. There are probably 25 to 50 people who have the virus for every one person who is confirmed.”

You can have it for 2 weeks with no symptoms, so possibly.
If that’s true, it’s good news. Means the death rate is less than the “regular” flu and we can go back living normal lives.
You arent kidding. I had that experience all week from the Fearpers.
“You CANNOT calculate the mortality rate unless/until the number of infected is known.”
You will never get a government grant with that attitude.
Preach it! You have been someone who has given me the strength continue to educate with facts. You are a hero
The most accurate count at this point is the deaths.
All I know is that the cure is, so far, worse than the disease. I understand closing schools and using online distance learning, instead. But closing dining in at restaurants, for instance, is leaving a huge segment of people without an income, which in and of itself, can cause a financial crisis, not to mention this zero interest move the Fed Chairman has done. Governors, even republican ones, are taking this state of emergency, and running with it, often in the wrong direction. President Trump needs to pull back the reins and get these governors to slow down and back off, because they’re going to end up doing more harm than good, and some of them are enjoying their power more than a little too much.
Do you know the difference between “we’re all going to die” and “if it gets going in the wider population, we’re going to run out of ICU beds” ?
Tell him shut up and find an antidote and quit stirring the pot. Everybody else get back to work.
Many of us have probably already had it and were told we had the flu. That is fact.
Irresponsible speculation. Did he just pull these numbers out of his wazoo? But because he’s an “expert” we now have another wild guess polluting the discourse.
The fact is, this guy doesn’t know any more than the hundreds of other “experts” who have already weighed in with their equally speculative opinions.
Or maybe its not a 2% death rate
Yes when the death scare doesnt work pivot to something else. So if the iCUs arent full by the end of the week what will be your next scare tactic?
Ya think? Of course its not a 2% death rate. Probably no worse than the regular flu.
Like you I have a science based education (lab science and engineering) and the agenda among the media and some in here is crystal clear. As a respected physician you understand that.
Ad hominem attacks are an admission that you have no compelling argument to support totalitarian control as a public health policy.
Be careful.

And many other Fearpers will sequentially try to bully you, intimidate you, threaten you, and try to take away your right to have a thought different than their groupthink.
Then the hyped death rate is far less
Lol....well done
