The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

I plugged in the most common 4 letter word for a persons name and it was off to the Indy 500.
Correctly guessed the 1st word and 2nd word. Gave me a good start to finish. I did have to Google who the author was.
