Would like to see the competition.
I like the detailing.

The detailing may have been perfect, but if the rules say “no logos”, then she should have followed the rules. Sorry. Life lesson.

I’m always impressed by anyone who can weld.
With lousy eyesight and shaky hands, it’s difficult for me to lay down decent beads, but I enjoy doing it.

You’re quite right. That being said, this young lady’s skills are quite impressive. I’m sure she’ll shake this off and go on to much greater things in the future.

Its a great model.
And people also shouldn’t win contests when they don’t follow the contest rules.
Now the article doesn’t say if when acontestant breaks contest rules by using a logo, if it has to be a 50 point deduction, or if the judges subjectively can set what the deduction can be. Don’t know from the story. If it is up to the judges how much to deduct per violation, then it very well may be arguable they may have been more punitive. But if its their discretion, its their discretion and everyone entered the contest accepting these rules.

If had been a Ford...
But coming up with a mini blue oval might take some time?
Cutting a very short section of tube or pipe on a miter might do the trick?

I’d giver a C[hev]+ and First Place.

I also noticed the welds. Excellent work! I remember my own welds in high school metal shop.
They did not look like that.

Pretty neat. Nice use of slag for the terrain.

I like the interior.
She didn’t skimp on the detail. Gauges, pedals, the ribbing in the bed.
One talented young lady.
