MGM Resorts International (the "Company" or "MGM Resorts") today announced its decision to temporarily suspend operations at its Las Vegas properties until further notice, effective as of Tuesday, March 17th. Casino operations will close on Monday, March 16th, followed by hotel operations.
The following statement was released by Jim Murren, Chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts: "As the coronavirus pandemic has intensified in the United States over the past week, the people of MGM Resorts have worked to try to find a way to continue delivering high quality hospitality and entertainment experiences for our guests while keeping our employees doing the jobs they love in a safe environment. Welcoming people from around the world is what we do, and our employees have tremendous pride in their work. Despite our commitment to dedicating additional resources for cleaning and promoting good health, while making difficult decisions to close certain aspects of our operations, it is now apparent that this is a public health crisis that requires major collective action if we are to slow its progression.
Accordingly, we will close all of our Las Vegas properties as of Tuesday, March 17th, for the good of our employees, guests and communities. This is a time of uncertainty across our country and the globe and we must all do our part to curtail the spread of this virus. We will plan to reopen our resorts as soon as it safe to do so and we will continue to support our employees, guests, and communities in every way that we can during this period of closure." MGM Resorts will not be taking reservations for arrivals prior to May 1, but please watch www.mgmresorts.com for the latest information. Details on the closing procedures, timelines and other issues related to this announcement will be forthcoming.

What the hell does that have to do with MGM again?
almost like they planned it.....working like charm....
but our local indian casinos seem to stay open....how is that?
we just got back from vegas a few days ago.....a lovely freeper hoped I got the virus....
Why is the narrative identical with Hobbes & Shaw?
Why does Q post a narrative explaining the situation on 8chan?
The virus is real.
So are the coincidental statistics of sealed indictments.
Yup.
No, some people are just plain ignorant. Look at Chinas response to its just a flu. Look are the mortality rates where this has gotten looseby ag, not by overall combined. Consider the liability of companies exposing customerse.g., an employ sick and infects customers. The cruise lines are good examples. Really surprising that people like you still dismiss tis like it is just a flu, critical of anyone discussing it.
Was just there 2 weeks ago. Whod have thunk?
Well, what is exaggerated? What doom is being predicted? Mostly the problem are commenters like you dumping all over people discuss things. What are you afraid of?
Nice try at reasoning and a having conciliatory approach, but I could have predicted the kind of response you’d get.
It has everything to do with vegas shutting down.
I really think all the Flu Bros should volunteer on the front line. They think they are immune.
So tell me..just where do you plan to help since you dont believe you can get sick from wuhan..and if you do..its just the flu.
After all...being put on a ventilator is no big deal...right?
They might not. Casinos closing decisions are just now coming
Can you seriously explain what the hell you are on?
The inability to go to a damn casino for a little while is not the biggest fricking deal. Sorry you will have to do something else other than gamble for a month. YOU WILL LIVE.
If that paragraph was too hard to comprehend, then seriously hug your cat a little tighter.
Looks like Randall Flagg and his gang are going to have the MGM Casino all to themselves.
I have looked at some opportunities for you. Food banks..meals on wheels ..and those who help homeless need volunteers. Call one and tell them you know you cant get sick and wish to help.
Hospitals in seattle are getting overwhelmed. You could always drive out there. Not sure they would take volunteers but can call ask
So where will you be volunteering. Food banks seem to be a good place..or perhap homeless since you know you are immune
I’m telling you only 6,500 people have died from this! At some point you guys are going to have to deal with the actual number of deaths, and the fact that most are recovering from COVID-19!
Everything else is conjecture!
