Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker will order all Illinois bars and restaurants to close their dine-in operations at the end of the business day on Monday.
“We are working with restaurant owners and food delivery services across the state to see if restaurants can safely keep their kitchens open, so the restaurants can continue food delivery to people at their homes,” Pritzker said at a news conference Sunday at the Thompson Center in the Loop.
“The time for persuasion and public appeals is over. The time for action is here. This is not a joke. No one is immune to this, and you have an obligation to act in the best interests of all the people of this state.”
Pritzker also urged people not to hoard food.
Earlier Sunday, Pritzker had said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he had been considering such a step.

Pritzker suffers from a severe case of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” that is resistant to common sense. Throughout the current “crisis” he has been relying upon Democratic talking points as scripted by Pelosi and Schumer. He has been panic peddling to the maximum.
Pritzker has made a staple out of Trump bashing and always faults the President at every turn in almost every public speech when he needs a laugh line.
There is going to be some push back. There is a serious pandemic and precautions need to be taken, but the numbers do no bear out the hysteria that Democrats are promoting.
Isn’t it PAST TIME for PDJT to step up and tell ALL to calm down?
Maybe a separate ‘beer summit’ with Governors, the Sports Orgs etc and convince all to press for vigilance but knock off the ‘sky is falling’.

I have and continue to believe this is a (for the MOST part) hoax riding the back of maybe a potential problem, BUT if this pans out like most of these recent ‘scares’, the end result will be more skepticism the next time when there may be a REAL Bona fide emergency.

Create a panic, people freak out and think they need to stock up on toilet paper for something they may not even get. Just think what could happen if there REALLY was a major disaster.

I’m going to speculate that they not telling what they know because it would only make matters worse not better. If everyone spends a couple, three weeks at home and it measurably slows the spread—not stops it—it buys everyone time. You know that vaccines and treatments are the highest priority. In Britain, Boris Johnson is asking companies to start making ventilators—Italy is begging for them.
I believe this is much bigger than anything we’ve faced in our collective lifetimes. Two or three weeks of little economic activity will be cheap in comparison if Wuhan is allowed to blossom.

I will admit from the gitgo I have been skeptical in regards to this latest ‘emergency’ in my lifetime.
Yes, I do and am coming across with a DGAF ‘attitude’ but I don’t think all this crap is either necessary or productive.
If this should get me, I have a prepared ‘shotgun blast’ email apologizing for my skepticism and will admit they ‘THEY’ were right and I wrong.
Now will all the people that have been calling me arrogant, stupid, idiotic and all in between, apologize to ME if and/or when it proves I am correct?
I’m inclined to agree. What statutory authority do any of these governors have to order a private business to close? It’s “shelter in place” all over again. There is nobody with the authority to order these things but people just blindly follow along.
