SAN DIEGO -- Pechanga Resort Casino and San Manuel Casino said Saturday they will both close temporarily in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The two Southern California casinos announced the closures as parks, businesses and other community attractions shut down in a widespread effort to prevent further spread of the virus.
Pechanga's closure begins at noon on Monday and will last through the end of March, leaders with the Pechanga Indian Reservation said.
"As a Tribal Government and major employer of thousands of people, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close Pechanga Resort Casino for the health and safety of our Team Members, Tribal Members, and guests due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tribal Chairman Mark Macarro said. No matter what, the Pechanga family will rise to this challenge together with the strength, compassion, determination, and resilience that our ancestors instilled in us.

Morongo and Valley View are not closed yet...
I would stay away from casinos at this time...
I’m going to Harrah’s next weekend in AC in NJ and got a GREAT price on the room.
I’ll roll the dice.
Get it? :)
I presume they'll return to their traditional tribal occupations of hunting, gathering, high-stakes bingo....
Are you sure they will be open? Casinos are making decisions just this week to close.
One of my friends was at one when employees found out it would be shutting down
Utter chaos and confusion.
Casinos closed in Indiana.
And online sports betting (recently introduced) has nothing to bet on either.
This is going to be worse than 911...
If the virus is aerosolized, they could run it through the HVAC system and rendition some seniors / useless eaters. L4 lab mgrs would know the most effective dosages without seniors falling off their stools (too messy and not cost effective).
WORST CASE scenario war gaming. Why not? The WMDs Weapons of Mass Distraction are working overtime.
Who made that decision? Governor, gaming commission, casino??
Had to be higher than Casino since all of them are closed.
AC casinos will close down when everybody’s dead
This ain’t CA or whatever fruity area of worriers it’s happening at.
I was going to go to Chumash today simply because there would be no people there. Got around too late but Ill bet they shut down too.
Indiana Gaming Commission made the call.
Indian (not Indiana) owned casino in South Bend remaining open.
I bet they will be mobbed.
I had an acquaintance that was at a Casino today gambling at blackjack when Pitbosses yelled “COVER THE MONEY”
He thought they were getting robbed. He saw someone with Police written on his jacket. But it didn’t appear to be a robbery.
Haven’t heard what went down.
Hope he didn’t get quarantined in a Casino..LOL
All these closings are going to be ineffectual. “Till April”??? That’s two weeks away. Closing till June would be wiser.
And if they did close, you can be DAM SURE I’d be at an underground casino in Brooklyn over the bridge or borrowing some tables from a few paesani and running my own games.
Hey, I could make some real $$ if they close.
LOLOL.
I bet their gaming commission has a whole different viewpoint than some of the newer ones like Indiana that just shut it down.
I was walking through the beautiful Bellagio a couple of weeks ago with my sis. The decorations honoring Oriental culture are magnificent. We had lunch there. It wasnt bat soup. There were hundreds if not thousands of Orientals there. Wearing masks? 5 MAX. Im OK so far and so is my sis in AZ. Thanks for asking. Take care. If they shut down/off all of that money machine then Katie bar the door. Its my canary in the coal mine. Easy to seal off...natural mountain barriers, a couple of interstates to close. If things get really out of hand, theres Nellis AFB nearby and one VERY LARGE drone port nearby. Stay tuned.
I was going to go to Chumash today simply because there would be no people there. Got around too late but Ill bet they shut down too.

I visited Chumash twice when it first opened...$50 free play...
I visited first time and got $25 free play...I visited second time and got remaining $25 free play.
I went there from LA County...Going through the mountain area was an interesting experience...
Whaddya mean, GOING to be? Except for air travel, the week post 9/11 was relatively normal. We weren't badgered to avoid crowds, restaurants and other small businesses who are no more than a 10-day dry spell away from going under.
Went to Pechanga with my son while on vacay in Oceanside on the beach (Strand blvd- fabulous condo) in August with the family. Very nice place. My wife has quarantined me from the Detroit casinos for now. I follow orders (sometimes). She’s the funniest tyrant (43 yrs) I’ve ever met.
Lizzy Warpath will be upset if her 2 slot machine outhouse casino is shut down in the Little Big Horn area.
