Thread #16 is below and it ran for two days...

“Officials suggest that longer closures of eight to 20 weeks will have a greater impact.”
Pretty much matches the governor of Ohio saying that there may not be any school re-opening there for the rest of the school year.
No surprise to people following Coronavirus closely.
Will never happen with any epidemic. Didnt even happen during the Black Death in the fourteenth century.
Its impossible to kill every human being on earth with a virulent disease.
OK, translation issue, then.
Just guessing, but I’d think Fla would have lot of spare healthcare. Most elderly operations are able to be delayed to free up care.
Of course they’ll be hit by spring break, and then all their relatives will move in when NYC closes down...
so it will probably be bad there.
Yeah, I decided a long time ago that watching Madcow and PMSNBC damage brain cells, so I never do either.
Im 10 minutes through and hes making sense so far
he has been making sense the whole week and seems to be the most informed public official
Are Ivanka’s children at home?
Yep.
But, hey, our hair’s on fire, or something.

But neither of those, are sufficient to say, that all the reaction to the virus is faked
For the sake of consistency, note that I didnt say all the reaction is faked.
I said we dont know if all the initial sources are believable.
I dont want you to meet me halfway. (That sounds too Hegelian.) Just be honest, thats all.
Of course the situation is really happening. But what is the basis?
I’ve been happily sitting in my well stocked house for the past 15 days. I can text and skype my kids. Not lonely at all. The school my daughter works at is closing for 2 weeks and has sent their scholars class work via the internet. She will also be staying home with her children in a well stocked house for 2 weeks. So here are examples of two people who have no problem self isolating for a two week period or longer if need be.

Doctors coronavirus closes a pediatric ICU in Philly to new patients; how many were exposed is unknown
by Sarah Gantz and Aubrey Whelan, Updated: 24 minutes ago
St. Christophers Hospital for Children closed its intensive care unit to new patients and the Level 1 trauma unit shut down Friday, March 13 after a physician tested positive for coronavirus. The rest of the hospital remained open, according to a memo sent to Drexel staff and students by the universitys president, John Fry on Saturday and obtained by the Inquirer Sunday.
This article says 3,200 ICU beds in New York state.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/14/nyregion/coronavirus-nyc-hospitals.html
Thats not good, based on NY state population of 20,106,000 based on 2019, that is only 1 bed per 6,283 residents. If 60% (3769) are infected. And 15% (565)of the infected require hospitalization. Then there is only 1 ICU bed for the 5% (28) that require ICU.
Can you guarantee that you will die?
Good. Hope armed guards do come to every town that has a freak like this. He’s a potential murderer roaming Main St.
OMG, your hair is on fire! Better put it out quick!
/sarcasm, do I really have to say it?
80% of those beds are currently occupied per the governor.
why do you hate him?
Yes—that is the key issue—and it is a nationwide problem—it will just hit the “hot spots” first.
They are going to have to convert some college dorms to hospitals. Every state will.
