I see no conflict of confusion, and you can only use about 100 characters in a tag.
HAHA!
“If this is the apex of the things you have to worry about...in actuality...you have nothing to worry about.”
Thank you for reading into what was not written.
Please see post #12
Define Double posting.
Is it the same article or topic?
100% of the whinners are those that have never taken the time and effort to post an article.
F em.
“So sometime FR glitches and you press post again because nothing happens.
Who cares if its posted twice? Its not on purpose, obviously.”
This has always been my view. We are only human and software is, indeed, created by humans. It will not work all the time in the manner expected. :-)
“Double postings...
Its like a wheel within a wheel.”
Too funny and a great analogy.
“Re-post with (vanity) in the title...
};^P>”
Silly me. I thought my name was vain enough. :-)
get you feelings hurt?
Im a relative newbie. Since only 2005. But I remember when Free Republic was a leaner meaner place without duplicates and vanities and blogs and other assorted useless threads.
I think its past time that management took a more direct role in maintaining the number of and the quality of the threads that are posted here.

In this case it was the posting of the exact same article.
I think the OP was talking about posting something, but taking longer than someone else posting the same thing and having his post removed because it came in second. It hurt his feelings evidently because must have been super perfect and had an awesome comment added, only to have the thing DELETED and probably receiving the message “search still works”.
I have always tried to be tolerant of it. The tools to help aren’t great for everyone and I fail sometimes too.
I have much less sympathy for blog pimpers, even if I am not militant about it. I believe a lot of people exist who don’t understand that they shouldn’t, and I have always thought that a serious, good-natured warning is always the best first step.
I admit I have seen a few posters who disregard those kinds of approaches (often with great, persistent, and deliberate zeal) and the only treatment IMO is instant permanent banning.
I just think duplicates are gonna happen though even with well intentioned preparation.
You probably think this thread is about you...
Free Republic was once a great site. But now. It’s weak.

This post is not regarding the number and quality of the threads posted here. It is regarding how folks respond to double postings.
If you are for censorship of peoples words, thoughts, articles of interest, etc. You should start a different thread and it can be debated among us, or decided by the Robinson family themselves.
And should you decide to post a new thread, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE double-check your spelling so you don’t look like a moron.
And if the story is about some town or county most people haven’t heard of or for which there are more than one in this country (i.e. “Portland”), please kindly add the state abbreviation to the headline.
And if it is an abbreviation that means multiple things (i.e. “PA” could mean “Pennsylvania” or “Palestinian Authority” or “plate appearances”) please give us a hint so we know what your subject is about.
Thanks, and I’ll hang up.
“You probably think this thread is about you...”
Sorry, I forgot to put /s at the end :-)

From what you know, how so?
