1. Women chatting "Went to the emergency room and they refused to test me, I know I don't have any symptoms but I wanted to be safe". No self awareness or concern about taking a test kit needed for medical research to create a vaccine. 2. Stores supplied their customers for a list of goods for their customer's to hoard for the crisis. It is called the per customer maximum list. Stores instantly run out as every member of their family grabbed a separate cart. 3. Companies shutting down or having half their staff work from home even though not a single employee has contracted this disease. 4. Physical altercations breaking out on freeways, store parking lots, etc.. 5. People standing on the street after the stores close waiting for the stores to reopen so they can go in and continue to pick the bones off the shelves keeping sane people awake all night as they hysterically talk and yell on their cell phones at their relatives.

People are psychotic, what is today going to bring?

All this an a virus that isn't even yielding numbers that come close to justifying the panic but with a press eager to fan the flames.

Been to the grocery store already. It was starting to really fill up when I checked out.

Very little water or bread. A lot of the canned goods and pasta was picked through.

Pretty full produce though.

I’m certainly not panicking. I’ve been getting prepared for over a month.

But thank the “ the flu is worse, just wash your damn hands” people.
If the message had been “ try to prepare for a significant illness and disruption of your normal life” maybe people wouldn’t be panicking now.

The thin veneer plastering over barbarism called “civilization” is wearing thin.

The media and the left (excuse the redundancy) are talking it up, hoping to bring the country to a boiling point, and of course topple Trump, their main goal since 2016.

They WANT people to be miserable and to suffer. They would turn it into a crisis for Trump.

I haven’t seen any incivility. Just hoarding supplies. Bread. Cleaning supplies. Frozen food. Supermarkets much more crowded at this hour than they normally were.

We obviously cannot live sustained periods keeping 6 + feet from each other, not going to work, having no meetings, going to no plays/theater/cinema, schools closed. If these restrictions are renewed in two weeks, then we’ll see some tempers flaring.

We did our usual weekly shopping last night.

TP? Gone. Why? TP is ineffective against Corona.
Bottled water? Gone. Why? The taps are not going to stop working.
Bread aisle? Wiped out completely. I suppose learning to bake a simple loaf of bread is too much to expect these days.
Liquor Megastore? Usual crowds for St Patrick’s day. Good price on Guinness. Grabbed a case.

I have a friend who manages a local Megamart. He said there were two fights over toilet paper. Cops were called. 4 people in jail for the weekend. Upside is the County lockup has plenty. So there’s that.

The hoarders are pissing me off. There are items I need ... toilet paper being one of them ... that I can’t find anywhere all because of their panic fueled shopping frenzies.

Never in my life have I seen such a run on grocery stores. Empty shelves everywhere.

I would say a few weeks of no food would be beneficial to the fatsos I see at the store.

Maybe they should enforce public order with the threat of forced infection with the virus and isolation from the public

I noticed that they go for the donuts, that’s the last food I would want when I am sick.

Imagine the chaos if the phones and tablets go down. Some people are so addicted it is unreal. Same with me and a puter. When FR goes down I am grouchy.

To prepare I bought a few more packets of yeast and a big sack of flour for the bread machine. LOL. That’s it.

I forgot to say that, they closed the libraries and closed the schools.

What are they going to do? How does this solve anything?

Right now they all say they are staying closed till the 31st of March and will reevaluate then on whether to stay closed for April.

Well, when all your neighbors are stripping the stores you have no choice but to join in because if you don’t they will consume everything.

We saw a couple wheeling pallets of bottled water and toilet paper into a storage unit yesterday. I wonder how long they think this will last that they would need that much or if they are planning to make a killing on the black market.
