Have family in that industry.

Rigs getting stacked left right and center.

But ‘we’ have been in that industry since the 50’s and know it’s chicken one week, feathers the next. My grandmother’s pantry was *impressive*. She could have ridden out a nuclear holocaust and still had food LOL. She had a HUGE garden every year because you could never be sure when the oil patch would just up and quit. Excess years she donated to people who had less than she did. I’m’a try to emulate my granny in most all I do.

Used some of my cream cheese stock in a sauce for meatballs last night. Talk about rich.

Poland is shutting down. Is that part of people overreacting to some vast left wing conspiracy?

I have wondered about that.

IF her O2 sat was so bad it caused that looks like she’d have been in a hospital.

I’ve had pneumonia many many times, once I was >< close to being hospitalized. Never ever had any sort of peripheral tingling.

That sounds ominously like neurological issues. Which this virus is known to cause in some cases.

Poland obviously lurks on FR.

Us gaslighters what made them shut down.

“I am worried some of the “just the flu” bros are going to go straight to the depression stage without passing through the anger and bargaining stage....”

I know sports had to be closed down, but I do wish/hope there is some way to keep up live broadcasting and competition without fans.

Having people hole up, when they have not mentally prepared themselves (really, who has?) without some “real world” distraction is scary as hell.

Even people giving good advice about saving, should not tell people to cut-off diversions like cable and games.

People need stress relief, most importantly we all have to help one another.

This may not be unprecedented in history, but it is in living memory.

Good luck, and God bless and keep us all.

I do that with my nacho/burrito filling.

Ground beef, 2 or 3 cups of cooked rice, some chopped veg (onions, peppers), 2 or 3 tbsp of cream cheese and taco seasoning/salt.

Haven’t thought about putting it in spaghetti sauce. ...Ideas now...

I’m guessing people eat out even more than I thought

in the last couple of years I have noticed the restaurants a lot more crowded..even on weekdays...I suspect it is because people have more income....

The military just stopped all domestic travel. All part of the conspiracy and fear mongering.

The kroger reddit page is insane.

I guess that this is the first nationwide ‘crisis’ and the JIT is having a problem like we thought it might.

Previous ‘crisis’ stuff involved a small region (blizzard, ‘cane’, etc) and corporate just shifted deliveries to that one region to compensate.

There IS no compensate for this when it’s nationwide.

Which explains Kroger begging for employees now.

I hear their warehouses are insanity this morning.

Ditto Walmart distribution systems.

And fedex is having issues because walmart.com has so much more business than it did a cpl weeks ago.

Guess those pentagon peeps lurk on FR too.

And listen to random internet posters to make their decisions.

Limit or stop driving.

Fill up all your gas at one time.

The hard core prepper crowd (I raise my hand :-) ) have been discussing this very topic for years and years.

The good news is we are in the Internet age, and there is an infinite amount out there to enjoy and learn.

1918—now _that_ would have been boring.

How is it inappropriate?

Some of the seeming schadenfreude is a concern.

Because we weren’t hand wringing over those who waited and ended up in the situations they find themselves in?

You don't have to hand-wring. But some of the comments (not from you) come across as "serves you right for not prepping".

This has been in the news since at least Jan. ANYONE who is watching and taking things seriously figured it out.

I've been there. In mid January I was telling folks there's a problem. Getting Purell additional hand sanitizer stations ordered and installed led to comments of "paranoid". Now there's none to be had and people are ticked that we have them.

In early February, our group started to build out additional remote access systems so we have redundant systems to access. I already work staggered hours and encouraged others to do so. And then this week people acted surprised. For many companies there has been a real failure of leadership in response to COVID-19. Normalcy bias, etc.

Lots of us did, got ready for it, and are now not in line making things worse

Agreed and that is a great point. What little I am buying now is via delivery or pickup at the curb (right in the trunk).

That’s because the left doesn’t care how many old people die. In fact, they would prefer all old people die because old people remember the past and also tend to be conservative. The economy will recover. Hell, one presser by Trump and his task force made it bounce right back up in an hour from a week’s worth of loss.

The best thing that will come of this is that all countries and businesses are going to rethink their relationship with China. China will take the biggest and most long term hit and that’s a very very good thing. If several hundred people don’t lose their lives in the process, win, win.

I can’t do that. I have a job and I will never be able to fully telecommute.

But I appreciate all the reponses I have received. I have rethought the process.

It is going to take me a week or two to fully adjust.

A weak solution of bleach can be used for teeth/gum health so something along that line might work for hands for washing but still wouldn’t leave it on.
