I suspect Trump has pouches full of hand sanitizer sewn into his suit and pants pockets. Always thought Jay Leno did the same for his nightly glad-handing the audience at the start of every show

Yes, I wouldn’t worry about President Trump right now. He has so many HCP’s that he probably can’t go to the bathroom without running into someone offering hand sanitizer.

Me? I have to make my own hand sanitizer....

Peninsula Health District Confirms Five Positive Cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

(Newport News, Va.) – The Peninsula Health District (PHD) announced today that five people, in addition to the two positive cases announced yesterday, have tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). All the cases reside in James City County. Four of the new cases are contacts of the original two cases. The fifth new case has an unknown exposure and the investigation is ongoing to identify where he may have acquired the virus. The five new cases were included in the statewide count of cases on March 13 on the VDH website at www.vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus.

“These five new cases make this a community outbreak of COVID-19,” said Peninsula Health District Director Dr. Thomas Franck. “The fact that one of these cases has an unknown exposure is concerning and is suspicious for community spread.”

Tucker on FNC trying to nail down with Seema Verma, Center for Medicaid and Medicare, how many ventilators we have and do we have enough if the number spike. She won’t say anything than “we have a stockpile” and that right now we have enough.

The Doctor Tucker had on after her was very outspoken in disagreeing with her, and criticized our preparedness, and highly critical of our readiness. -Tom

Georgia deadline is March 20 for mail-in ballots, something to think about in other areas, as we don’t know how bad things will be in a week or two. Or maybe we do 😰

CO

The Aspen-area community is now experiencing “community transmission” of the COVID-19 virus, two local public health officials said Friday.

That means the virus has spread among the local population — outside of the group of visiting Australians who were previously identified as the area’s only cases — and cannot be traced back to an original source, said Karen Koenemann, Pitkin County Public Health director.

“From what (the state public health department has) seen, … we have limited community spread in this community,” she said during a media briefing call Friday afternoon. “We know for certain that there’s community spread in Eagle County.
“And so, because of that, knowing it’s just a matter of time, we decided to be really proactive with Eagle and Garfield (counties) around this.”

The comment referenced a tri-county public health order issued late Thursday night forbidding gatherings of more than 50 people until April 8.
But the diagnosis of Aspen community transmission of the virus was not backed up by official test numbers of local Aspen or Pitkin County residents who have come up positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Koenemann said local public health officials hadn’t received test results back from the state lab from samples taken from at least 25 residents Wednesday and Thursday. She said she did not know when those results might become available.

Nonetheless, Aspen Ambulance Director Gabe Muething agreed that Aspen-area community transmission of the virus has occurred.

“We know at this point we do have community transmission,” Muething said during Friday’s media call.

*** Nah, not in denial. They are just waiting for Limbaugh to tell them what to think. ***

My still in denial neighbor who thinks Nancy Pelosi, and the “Demoncrats” are responsible for a global hoax is starting to concern me. It is like she has no independent thought, just what Rush preaches. Cultish.

Not sure if Trump changed her mind with his briefing today.

Right now, I am satisfied that all that can be done is being done.

Some of the cranks on Twitter ( that includes folks with impressive degrees) are waking up to the fact that not every thing in life can be controlled for.

Most of us lesser mortals already know this.

Science is a wonderful thing, but at end of the day, we still know so very little.

Floridians are experts at storm preparation. It is an annual ritual.

I was thinking the same. Everything was orderly at Publix. Just a bit more busy than usual. At no time the past few weeks have I seen hoarding type purchases.
