Update on condition of confirmed cases
55. To date, a total of 105 cases have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospital. Of the 121 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving. 13 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
Update on contact tracing for confirmed cases
56. Contact tracing for the confirmed cases is ongoing. Once identified, MOH will closely monitor all close contacts. As a precautionary measure, they will be quarantined for 14 days from their last exposure to the patient. In addition, all other identified contacts who have a low risk of being infected will be under active surveillance, and will be contacted daily to monitor their health status.
57. As of 15 March 2020, 12pm, MOH has identified 5,472 close contacts who have been quarantined. Of these, 1,817 are currently quarantined, and 3,655 have completed their quarantine.

The State of Louisiana reports a second death related to COVID-19. The Orleans Parish resident was a 53-year-old individual with underlying medical conditions. The patient was being treated at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans.

New York Citys coronavirus cases have skyrocketed in less than a week from 25 on Monday to 269 Sunday as Mayor Bill de Blasio considers locking down the Big Apple to contain the outbreak.
Every option is on the table in a crisis, de Blasio said Sunday morning on CNN.
Weve never seen anything like this, he said.
De Blasio expects the citys coronavirus tally to rise to 1,000 in the next few days.
Its changing every hour so were going to constantly make new decisions, de Blasio said about the dynamic public health emergency.

As at noon today (March 15), public hospitals had reported to the Department of Health the admission of 64 patients (32 male and 32 female, aged 2 to 87) in the past 24 hours who met the reporting criteria of COVID-19. Appropriate tests have been arranged for the patients.
There are 149 patients under isolation currently. So far, 84 patients who had COVID-19 confirmed or probable infections have been discharged upon recovery.

A Boone-based Samaritans Purse staff member who had recently traveled overseas has tested presumptive positive for the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus). This individual returned 9 days ago from countries considered to be at lower risk at the time of travel. The employee did not return to work and self-quarantined immediately upon return home. The staff member has experienced some mild symptoms and is recovering without need for further medical intervention at this time. The employee was tested at their home by AppHealthCare (the Watauga County Health Department).
