Should I quarantine myself. I feel fine, except for the weak runny nose. I am 54 years old.

I’d take a sick day and call my doc in the morning if it was me. At least you’d know one way or the other.

I would call your doctor or Covid helpline and ask them. They would have better information than people here.

Call your local health department. Self isolate unless advised otherwise by them or your physician.

You likely have a higher chance of picking it up because of your job, but since there are so few infections in this country... the chances that you have corona-virus is very slim.

Sir, immediately call your doc's office to get a prescription for Coronavirus test at Quest or Labcorp. Might also want to test for flu.

You are in a high risk job now. Don't hesitate to stay home to rest. The message from Trump is he has your back if you lose wages due to quarantine or illness.

His goal is to slow the spread of the virus asap.

Probably not. Usually no runny nose and almost always dry cough.

I have been having similar type symptoms. More in likely allergies. I am usually not home but in the desert this time of year...

Might as well get checked out. Peace of mind and all of that. I read about a simple breath test. Breath in a healthy gulp of air and hold it for ten seconds. If you start coughing, then have some lung issues. If not...lungs are clear and other issues going on.

I just left work early today feeling queasy and unwell. Abundance of caution is necessary if you're in a high risk job or health category.
Tomorrow, if this continues, my doc will send me for flu test 1st. Later we can do coronavirus test. I cancelled meetings but if feeling ok, can teleconference for my work.
Feel better soon!

Could be entirely psychsomatic. Stop watching the news. Go get checked out by a competent doctor. Ignore the idiots on the FR....

Hey, wait a second....

No. And I'm not a doctor, okay? Trust me, again I'm no MD. I work in a local hospital here in southern NJ. We haven't had a single case. Two ‘’possibles’’ that were nothing more than the common cold. If your nose is running take an antihistamine.

Hopefully not. We're at the beginning of what appears to be a strong pollen season. Symptoms of the Corona virus include a dry cough for a number of days, aches/pains, and eventually fever. But those symptoms take time to develop.

I've read about a self-test, where you take a deep breath and hold it for 10 seconds. If this doesn't cause discomfort or cause you to cough, then your lungs are probably clear. - I'm no doc though.

There is an excellent chance that you do not have coronavirus. Right now it is very rare in Texas:

Here's the CDC description of signs and symptoms:

Here is a brand new video by Dr. Damania, who also makes informative Youtube comedy parody videos. This video very clearly explains what it's like if you have coronavirus.

High fever and/or persistent cough.

Those are the symptoms according to the UK presser yesterday.

Best wishes, Biff.

It might be too late for this to help, but...

Go to a doc

Runny nose is NOT a sign of coronavirus. Sounds like you have a regular cold. But I’m not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV.

You are 95% not likely to have it. Virtually all the cases start with the “unproductive cough” and slight fever. You likely have a cold. Sneezing and runny nose are not symptoms of this Corona virus. An unproductive cough is a cough without mucus coming up. Its often called a dry cough. This cough is persistent during the entire illness. But near the end, you will be coughing up mucus.

Do you have an urge to buy copious amounts of toilet paper and blame Trump for your runny nose?
