Well, why not. They are going to get billion$ of taxpayer money to see them through. No need to go through the motions. The cost of a run of the mill cruise ship today is about a half a billion dollars.
Many cruise lines have bigger ships costing a billion dollars.
So tieing up these ships and paying tens of thousands of dollars to employees, can be a major economic problem, not to mention the collateral damage to airlines and hotels and travel agencies etc.

There was a little video showing Cathay Pacific’s airliners parked in Hong Kong. So the airlines are hurting tooespecially, I would imagine Asian carriers.

When I owned businesses, if there was some sort of downturn, the taxpayers didn't bail me out, nor did I expect them to.
