As the number of confirmed 2019 novel coronavirus cases continues to multiply, many Americans are emptying store shelves of hand sanitizer, bleach, and canned goods. But there’s an acute fear among Asian Americans that the virus’ origins in China will spark a violent xenophobic backlash. Along the West Coast, where the worst outbreaks of the coronavirus in the U.S. have occurred, those fears seem to be spurring a surge in gun sales.
“People are panicking because they don’t feel secure,” said David Liu, who is Chinese American and owns Arcadia Firearm and Safety, which is just east of Los Angeles. “They worry about a riot or maybe that people will start to target the Chinese.”

Maybe they just know about the history of LA’s ghettos rioting and are taking appropriate precautions. Smart. They learned the lessons of the roof Koreans.

There will probably be some isolated incidents, like after 9-11, but it just shouldn’t be happening. The corrupt media will may headlines out of it; even one incident will become headlines. Watch for it.

Just a thought. We are inundated with numbers as people die of the virus, but never do we hear the back story of the individual numbers. For example the ages of the deceased, and if they had underlying maladies that contributed to their demise.
How do we know the numbers of deaths are focused on coronavirus as I reflect upon all the deaths in certain places hit by hurricanes in which anybody that died for any reason was counted as a death associated with the hurricane.
I think we the people need to start asking questions. We can’t trust our news media especially the mainstream.
Asians should thank the fake media for waking them up from slumber to appreciate their 2nd amendment rights.

Sounds that way. I doubt they’re worried about preppers coming for their stuff.
It’s not like the Asian Americans created this thing.
No need for them to be attacked. However, you are not going make eat at a Chinese Restaurant or hang out with them. I am not a fan of their culture.
If they want to buy guns...that’s fine with me.
Giving out that information is against the law. It’s not going to happen in the US.
Additional lesson, under-reported:
Apparently many of the “roof koreans” were rounded up and hauled off for questioning. The guns had frequently been passed around, assuring too many fingerprints to identify particular users. Nobody said anything. All were released.
Seems like a win/win to me. They’ll be armed for their safety and when nothing happens, they’ll appreciate their non-aggressive neighbors and still be armed for safety.
