I’ve been one of the biggest opponents against all the panic. But I have come to realize this is a serious epidemic. The chances of surviving it are very good which is a very good thing. But making a vaccine is not that easy and I think we will see a lot more headlines before we actually see one produced after being tested.

Or I could be completely wrong. Like I said before, what the hell do I know? If I was that smart I’d be on my private jet going to my private island right now instead of bloviating on Free republic :-)

Maybe the plan all along was to release it, kill old people in China and then come to the rescue when it started to spread in the West.

Every time you see a headline like this accompanied by confident-sounding pronouncements, think “the check is in the mail”. Some of them are cash calls for more government or philanthropic funding. Some are just PR releases justifying current funding. The only time you’ll know that something is truly impending, is when the announcement is made that the FDA has approved the drug (typically after costly human trials have been completed).
