I’ve wondered for a long time why people choose to live all bunched up in super dense locations when access to work via computer is so common now.
Well, I would rather have a degree from Georgia Southern University or the University of Northern Colorado (my two Alma Maters) than the University of Phoenix.
I was talking with my kid yesterday. He works at NASA. Everyone stayed home Friday to test whether their systems could handle everyone working remotely.
He “drives” satellites so his job would be very hard if not impossible to do remotely.
Our reactions to events in the past 25 years have been overblown:
The dot-com stock market crash
The 9/11 attacks
The subprime mortgage crisis
Everything we worry about doesn’t turn out to be as bad as expected, and life in the US goes on pretty much as before. The subprime mortgage crisis was the worst, and caused a lot of people a lot of pain, but the nation as a whole managed to recover.
I predict that a year from now, we’ll be worried about something else. It is very unreasonable to expect history to stop, and no new problems to come along. We seem to be better than we think at dealing with them.
Why is the first word in your post “so”?
Taxes will have to be raised or grow the debt further. Also, I’ll bet the cost of a college education does not go down.
Nothing changes here.
We go about life and shake our heads over the immense stupidity which goes on in the cities.
Things that need to change... ..
End Diversity hiring.
End all Welfare to non Citizens of the USA.
End the Senators, and Representatives, not having to pass any kind of qualifications as to how Tax Payer Money will be spent.
End Sanctuary cities.
Deport all Illegals from the United States ASAP. No questions asked... ..just GONE!
Start checking Resume’s for accuracy, and fraud in all Government Positions Immediately!
College - I’ve thought of those profs giving the same lecture year after year. Should just record a really good one on the topic and use it repeatedly. Students could learn remotely.
Probably the idea would not fly with the profs.
Health insurance premiums increase with increased costs/overhead (”free” tests). Public health agencies (county/state) should be taking the cost out of their existing budgets.
Snowflakes gallore.
And waived the ridiculous “co-pay”
Why not keep the payroll tax in place, but simply let us decide whether or not we want the govt to invest this money?
If a person decides where he invests, that person forgoes claims (proportional to time in system) on govt retirement help.
