President elect Donald Trump has said he will bring drug manufacturing back to the US and introduce bidding measures to cut the amount the country spends on medicines.
POTUS has done a wonderful job of bringing back a good amount of manufacturing to the USA...but, how - why - in the world, did this vital product/market get left behind?

It does not matter if it is President Trump's fault. He is the "face" so to speak of the Federal government - and the Federal response.
The whole issue of defective test materials, people not being tested, etc. - there's going to be people who blame President Trump.
And think about people from other countries with COVID-19 issues flying into the US and not being adequately screened? Should those flights have been cancelled? Restricted?
What does President Trump say? "I told them to cancel those flights?"
It's just the way it is. How he deals with the issue over the long term will factor into if he gets re-elected.
My wife is upset because I want take her to a Saint Patrick’s Day event. She has a condition, so she should not be out if there is a virus nearby.

“The CDC is reporting that hospitals especially are having some difficulty getting masks and gloves,” Holmes said. “A lot of those gloves and masks are made in China, and the state and federal government don’t have enough stockpiled. If this goes on for several months, there is a possibility we could run out of gloves and masks.”
