Hong Kong reports three more Covid-19 cases, 118 in total

HONG KONG: Hong Kong’s Centre for Health Protection (CHP) reported three more confirmed cases of the Covid-19 (coronavirus) on Tuesday (March 10), bringing the total to 118.
The new patients were all related to outbound trips, according to head of the CHP’s Communicable Disease Branch Chuang Shuk-kwan.
Comment: their early practice measures, testing and social distancing definitely flattened their wave.

Agreed.
But, there will come a point where CDC will change the testing criteria, just like China did, to artificially keep the case numbers down, or because they simply can’t keep up with the work load.
Currently China reports 80,000 cases.
For geo polictical purposes there is NO WAY the US, would want to admit we have as many or more cases than China, when we’re only 1/5th of their population. This would shake the world confidence in the dollar and maybe even as a global military strength (especially if reports come out about military infected cases)
I’d expect the testing standard to be changed by the CDC when we get to about 25,000 cases and if the doubling rate continues its current trend without slowing, that will be on or about one week from Sunday...March 22nd.

My numbers are based on cases from BNO news, worlomometers and NY Times live reporting site and are added to the spreadsheet before I go to sleep each night, which usually leaves the west coat an hour or two to report cases.

The graph shows the cases each day. The difference between the daily numbers there and mine are simply a matter of what time of day they plotted the graph, but the trend matches doubling every day as it stands. Hopefully. The rate slows so the medical infrastructure can keep up, or this is a big problem.
I'd be very surprised if she could survive this.
She's the norm, not the exception.

Unless someone has the antidote, this seems like a really counterproductive bio-weapon. Whoever created this needs to be put up against the wall.
Five weeks ago I was going to Costco every-other-day. As well as the many Amazon orders.
Started off with cleaning supplies and canned foods. Then stated adding in the TP, paper towels and tissues. Already had a bunch of that stuff.
I thought I had enough small N95 masks. My wife has ten of them to rotate through. Of course now that they aren’t avaiblable, I’m kicking myself for not having 30 of them. (Although I bet I have a few more in the garage!) I’m going to have her try on the mediums that I have. I might have to get some of the smalls back from the kids.
This is a big deal with us here near Seattle with us losing work from this, and perhaps going into self-isolation.

THey had what is called a Super Spreader.

CPAC guy doesn’t seem to be one because people aren’t getting sick..or at least not admitting to it.
I’m guessing it is referring to the President’s payroll tax relief and other relief since so many are (and many will about to be) quarantined
My husband has bought enough crap to start a small store.
Are they still doing quarantines? I read something from Sacramento about abandoning quarantines and moving to mitigation, whatever that means. I think it really means, ignoring it until it effects you directly.
Wow...pretty much an indication that they are just going to let the elderly who contract this virus die.
