“Frisco man with coronavirus spreads disease to his wife and 3-year old Health officials have tested all six members of the family and a close friend who were in contact with them on Monday afternoon. One school-age child had an inconclusive test and is being retested. All other individuals tested negative.

According to a Collin County Health Services press release, all seven individuals are in stable condition and in self-quarantine in their own home. Health officials also said on Tuesday that both of the family’s school-age children “were not contagious at any time while they attended school.”

There are almost NO hospitals having wings that can handle that. I am in the same area of the country as you. Aside from UMASS Medical in Worcester, there are maybe 2 dozen negative pressure rooms within 50 miles of you. In the greater Western MA area, there are, maybe, six of them.

My wife works in a hospital with two. My daughter is in the big hospital. They have 4. There are more in Hartford, but it is proportionate to the population.

More than a dozen cases in Northern CT or Western MA and they will be in whatever ICU beds are open.

Not trying to hype anything. But those facilities are in the big city hospitals. They are not designed for an influx of cases. They are one-offs.

I need to take a break from all of this. After reading for 30 minutes, I start feeling sick. Not even kidding.

Gave up on China data long ago (though it’s better now).
Wuhan healthcare broke down- driving up spread and deaths; CCP lied- driving down reports of spread and deaths. An unusable mess.
They cclosed down areas after their pitiful healthcare system was overwhelemd

Self Quarantine and “abundance of Caution” will be the catch phrases of the early 2020’s.

Frisco to Gregg Co. TX is 150 miles. Dallas is sort of in between so any day now.

I trust so little of what the CDC is saying. Especially about “ early transmissions.” The CDC was to stick a finger and sniff it.

They have been virtually worthless.

They all left their wives at home?

Perhaps some of the party was same-sex significant other.

The Spanish flu travelled around the globe 3 times in a year during the late 1910’s. No air travel. So CoVid 19 travels around globe three times in 6 months ? 3 months ? 1 month ? Two Weeks ?

Nope.
“Social distancing” is the correct PC phrase.
You’ll see it everywhere.

A lot of Harvard students are from other countries—and then they will have to fly home...omg.

Lookner is pointing that out...

Both my daughters called today. One is freaking out in Richmond. The other called and said she did not have enough food.

I said, ....go shopping. This isn’t rocket science. What is a couple of weeks of baby food? $40? And buy some chicken and toss it in the freezer.

And I have been gently telling them to prep for hurricanes and blizzards for years. The extra cans of food you normally eat is cheap insurance.

Why is this so hard? You don’t need masks or hand sanitizer. Soap and water. And if it gets bad...learn how to make soap.
