Spring Break probably saved everyone. AppState will be the most affected because it is an “indoor” school in the winter. At least it was when I was there

File under “Best Practices”.
Georgia is gonna get this under control imho.
Of course they need to close the state and the Atlanta airport to make that happen.
So sad....and, scary. These folks are so much more suseptible.
MD Anderson has set up strict protocol, at their Houston area locations.
But...that’s not to say the same thing couldn’t happen, at MDA.
:(
I like that GA system.
Thanks, Steve on the WA state info—another one to file under “Best Practices”.
Of course they need draconian quarantine measures (including closing SeaTac)—now—or it won’t matter.
The Gov. is a day late and a dollar short.
Some old folks (like my mother in law) do not have a cell phone or a computer....
Just saying...
Stick with us for a week or two.
There are a lot of _very_ smart folks here.
We have predicting this every step of the way—and not one the regular posters on this thread has been over-aggressive in their predictions.
This virus is following virus rules—catch me if you can...and so far the virus is winning...
Thanks for the update.
Normalcy bias is hard to break—everywhere...
Holly:
Great post on Italy. _Every_ American needs to know this _now_.
“average 70 year old Italian, eating an Italian diet, living the Italian way in an Italian village surrounded by friends and family they’ve known forever is healthier than a lot of 30-40 year old Americans.”
Very important point.
I think it will take a toll of higher numbers in America because of this. A lot of Italy 40s people are being hit hard. Not sure of the details of the 40s people.
We are speculating here that when a college kicks all its students out of the dorms on short notice—that is an indication they will become a quarantine zone for their area.
Harvard—eastern MA
Smith—western MA
Grinell—Iowa
etc etc
I honestly think Trump is more concerned and interested with the economic impact of this.
I am thinking Trump is trying to figure out how not create a panic.
The plan was roll out to those states first then roll out to the rest. The problem with the reagent cropped up after the initial rollout and everything stopped.
They wasted 2 weeks trying fix the problem and Pence/FDA stepped in March 2 (I think) moved manufacturing out of the CDC and also freed health agencies and private entities to make their own tests. So we are 9 days after Pence took over and the amount of tests being manufactured now is quite remarkable for 9 days.
But the two week stall? The president owns that, Im afraid. Even if he was being sabotaged.
Speculation may be too kind.
It sounds a little bit like a conspiracy theory!
Gotta keep them in check— they are just too easy to come up with at this point in time.
The first DC case was an Episcopal rector—don’t know if he was at the conference.
This could be another Biogen...
