I dont recall H1N1 coming up during Obamas campaigns
Gatorade was developed in Florida years ago... I think University of Florida... anyhow rumor at the time was researchers analyzed human underarm sweat and chemically copied it... and that became gatorade. For whatever it's worth - the early versions were MUCH worse tasting that the current stuff... I gag on the stuff too... but always keep some in the house for an emergency if someone's dehydrated or over-heated...(I live in Florida)
There was another around. May have left.
Yeah: “source” is fair...
I knew it was developed for the football team but not the bit about ‘underarm’.
Maybe that’s why it tastes like old socks smell.
Anyone here read bill O’Reilly’s Killing the Rising Sun? He relates this tidbit... The Phillipines President Quezon found out (too late) his gardener was A Japanese Major and his masseur a Japanese Colonel. Japanese soldiers came as “immigrants “ and spent 10 years infiltrating...gee...think anything like that might be happening here?
Another drive thru testing...

Breaking news: Kudos to #KaiserSF for being first in #SanFrancisco to offer #COVID19 #drivethru testing today, led by
@UCSF
@UCSFMedicine
@UCSF_ID
alumnus Jonathan Volk. Because of limited testing kits available needs to be ID approved. We so need more testing capacity.

Comment: I posted somewhere upthread that a university in Seattle is doing this too. Other states should be considering rolling out the same.
I’m just glad FSU didn’t develop a drink. I don’t think Seminade would have sold well, well, maybe in San Francisco. ;)
The market was just a convenient fall guy.
I have an oral rehydration solution recipe remedy that we use from time to time when feeling dehydrated. Works great.
Warm Water
12 fl oz
Apple Cider Vinegar - 1 tablespoon
Lemon Juice - 1 tablespoon
Potassium chloride 1/2 tsp
Himalayan Pink Salt - ½ teaspoon
Stevia
For the above, I use sugar instead of stevia, hubby does keto so he sticks with stevia
bkmrk
potassium chloride is sold under the brand name NuSalt
Sars started in Guangdong province. Right next door to Shenzhen and Hong Kong and down the street from Hubei. Their bats tell the story
I suspect shutting down schools will be the norm, at least until the fall. Our local school, UCSD, just announced “Starting in Spring Quarter, all lecture and discussion courses will be delivered remotely”. They had already encouraged remote teaching, but after Spring Break, it’s all classes. Of course this is NOT to protect the students, but to protect the faculty. Wouldn’t want the elite intellectual socialist professors to be infected. The students will still be on campus, doing labs with lab assistants, but at least they won’t be coughing on the faculty.
Thanks. Notice how they’re only giving the county and not the city. Don’t want to panic anyone.
The cheap seat passengers stumble up the aisle through first class to enter and leave the plane and touch first class seats. They all breathed the same air and then there’s the attendants.

The man lives in the city of Frisco, TX but had traveled to somewhere in CA.
Excellent video interview with infectious disease expert Michael Osterholm.

Explains a lot about the mask situation. No wonder.
