Pixar's latest animation Onward has been banned by several Middle Eastern countries because of a reference to lesbian parents, according to reports.
The family film will not be shown in Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, Hollywood media have reported.
Police officer Specter, voiced by Lena Waithe, has been heralded as Disney-Pixar's first openly gay character.
Her lines include: "It's not easy being a parent... my girlfriend's daughter got me pulling my hair out, OK?"
Other Middle East countries like Bahrain, Lebanon and Egypt are showing the film.
And according to Deadline, Russia censored the scene in question by changing the word "girlfriend" to "partner" and avoiding mentioning the gender of Specter, who is a supporting character.

It’s not a family film if it has lesbians in it.
Everything that the Left touches turns to dreck.
“The family film ... openly gay character.”
Choose one.
Good!
I heard you can catch the CORONA VIRUS just by watching 2 minutes of it
They’re slowly ramping up to gay/transgender lead characters frenching each other throughout the story in a tentpole Disney children’s animated film. Disney is on a mission now and they’ve been working on this end goal for awhile. Bookmark this then go off and dump another thousand on Disney Plus subscriptions and merchandise for your kids.
It is a proselytizing movie.
I know the producers who backed it. They’re all ass munchers.
Yes it was a pointless needless reference put in just to satisfy the lavender mafia and to further help indoctrinate kids and normalize homosexuality
It was a very cute movie so I went only because it was my sons 10th birthday and Id say Id give it a six out of 10 seven out of 10
Two boys age 16 and 19 try to use magic to re-create their dead father for 24 hours and have a big adventure as they get it only halfway done and hes just a pair of pants for most of the movie and I wont spoil it
And they are ruining their brand...
Theyve got tremendous amounts of homosexuality and other non- generative sorts of sexual behavior already. They dont want any more or else theyll run out of young men of terrorist/ fighting age to invade Europe and USA
We’ve come a long way since “Gone With The Wind” got banned in some localities because it had “that word” (damn) in it.
CC
The lead character in The Legend of Kora ended up being a lesbian.
When we were a saner country we would have banned this filth too.
When pixar was a stand alone company, I still knew a few of the execs back then and they were not your typical lib. It only turned left after Disney..
I don’t know about that. I’m not sure why they just don’t go ahead and release a major tentpole children’s animated movie right now with openly gay leads where its a major part of the story since they obviously want to really badly. Disney has such a monopoly on major franchise entertainment now and are so rich and powerful and most people are conditioned to the point where there’d probably be minimal backlash if they opened a flick tomorrow with Aladdin and Prince Eric going at it Brokeback style. There would probably be more blowback if they made a movie with a female lead that went back to acting like Disney female characters pre 90s and wasn’t the masculine mary sues that generally populate their films now. Just look at this very thread for how blase people are about this in ta so called vanguard of the conservative cultural warroom
It seems that “The People” are boycotting here, they’re a bunch of phobes if they don’t take their kids to see and start their grooming.
Banned here in this home as well.
