A physician's assistant who became New Jersey's first case of coronavirus has spoken out about the disease from his hospital bed and warns others to take the threat seriously.
James Cai, 32, fell ill last weekend while attending a medical conference at a hotel in Times Square.
He has been hospitalized since Tuesday at the Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey. So far, 13 people have been tested for COVID-19 in New Jersey. The other 11 cases have come back negative.
'Every day is getting worse,' Cai said Monday during an interview with CBS, adding that 'it happened so quick'.
'A lot of people say its OK, dont wear masks. I dont believe that,' Cai said.
Cai, who works and lives in Manhattan and Fort Lee, New Jersey, said the virus is not one to be taken lightly.
In New York, where Gov Andrew Cuomo recently declared a state of emergency, cases of the coronavirus have shot to 142.

“The teacher, who prefers the use of gender-neutral pronouns, has been under quarantine for 46 days and shares daily videos”
Gee- I hope It doesn’t get sick.
One persons sick videos should be taken with the same grain of salt as the I swam with Coronavirus all day, and didnt get sick videos that are popping up.
One person is a story. We need statistics.
Prayers for your, fellow freeper!
Sorry to hear that. I had a really bad case of the flu last year and wasn’t at all sure I would pull through. I think it’s mostly people in their 80’s and 90’s who don’t survive coronavirus. The same can apply to the flu or any other common sickness, and they just call it old age.
Yes, and it could be that..or not.
I know it isn’t for me because I dont have that problem
So.we will just wait and see.
The last time this happened a few weeks ago after people coughed on me I knocked it out overnight
Runny nose, Headache, and sneezing.
, allergy season is going to have people more concerned because they won’t know if they have it or allergies. At least they know their own body to know it is what they usually get.
I can tell you from supporting a colleague of mine while he was in an Italian hospital for two months... Italian health care is .... well,it leaves a lot to be desired
. And if youre old its little more than hospice care.
They’re really going all out to establish the narrative that this guy has connections with prominent conservatives.
Name them ping them.
Black Agnes does not believe Wuhan Hot Toddy man.
I really dont know whether to believe him or not. It does seem like he wanted the limelight. He certainly didnt mention the cat or the diary in his first interview. But that could be that DM just didnt include them in the story
I do drink shots of whiskey with New Zealand manuka honey when I get the sign of sickness.
This man is a health care professional. Had he been to China? How was he exposed? And he did not consider any risks in attending the conference?
The bio-weapon theory is just that. But if it came from a such a lab, it makes sense that weaponized viruses are not the only thing they would be studying. Maybe some lesser research subject got loose accidentally. Or maybe not. I’m not one for conspiracy theories. Throughout history, enough plagues have come from China and the far east to know that it doesn’t have to be something intentional.
Worldwide there has been 1 death of a child attributed to this virus.. for whatever reason youth do generally not seem to be affected. Or at least dont get severe cases of it
“dry coughing from her lower lung”
Sounds more like a fabrication than a clinical description.
(”Lower lung” is what gives it away.)
The one interesting thing we have yet to find out is how much damage is done to those who survive.
I am sure there are quite a few in the US who have had it and had no idea
There are many here before this came out that had said they had the worst flu of their life this year and it was like a double flu.
So probably a lot of walking survivors in the US.
Dont read the thread if you want to bury your head in the sand.
Shallow ventilation on knocked out prone patients. That is the protocol with the highest survival rates for pulmonary stuff like this. All three make a big diff. Prone. Knocked Out. Low volume ventilation. Combined their effect is more than the sum of their individual effects on survival rates.
Saw something about how they were going to start rationing health care but didnt really read the story.
Death panels
Doctors use the general term lower lung all the time. Thats where the ACE2 receptors are that the virus attaches to.
