A Miramar family is devastated after they say a stranger trespassed onto their property and shot their cat with an arrow, killing it.
The family's mother said the incident happened around 2:00 a.m., last Saturday.
"Apparently, they knew where she slept," the mother says. "So they started a hunt."
Surveillance footage outside the home shows a hooded man walking around the backyard of the home. He can be seen shining a light into some bushes before walking away.
Moments later, the cat - named Lola - is seen scurrying behind a couple of potted plants.
The mother says her son found Lola the next day, lying on the ground and not moving. After taking the cat to the vet for an x-ray, she says doctors found an arrow that pierced Lola's spine.
The family was then forced to put Lola down.
The mother says she does not know what motivated the person to shoot Lola and did not recognize the man.
A police report was filed by the family.
My guess is the cat probably messed in his garden or something like that.
I am aware of two cats being shot for this. They were both outside cats.
Let me cut his wiener off and feed it to my cat while the bastard watches
Keep your pets indoors...only if you love them.
Who the heck cares what happened to a cat in Burma? :)
Yeah, never mind an armed trespasser in your backyard.
My buddy up the street lost their cat just this week about 6 days ago to a dog attack.
Their neighbor’s 7 year old kid accidentally let their pit bull type dog out, and the cat, which was an outside cat, was attacked. It has not been seen since.
Leaving your pets outside leaves them subject to many bad things. This is definitely not a wise practice IMO.
So true. We have morons around here with electronic fences for their little dogs. The coyotes love it,
I have heard of many, many stories of people losing pets to coyotes.
To a coyote, a dog or cat is just a meal.
If I were the cat, I know exactly what I would say.
Ping.
Do you really mean Invisable Fences?
Does the pit bull owner engage in criminal activity, or is he just under-endowed?
The guy is not what I would call your typical pit bull owner.
He’s just some 40+ white dude, clearly a working man, with two twin boys who are about 7. I think a woman lives there as well, and I never even knew that they had a dog. Never saw or heard it once, they’ve been there maybe 4 months or so, rental house.
I pretty sure they’re not even supposed to have such an animal there.
Invisible electronic fences.
