I got the ethanol. Isopropyl has the same effect on the virus - both are good.

Ethyl alcohol forms an azeotrope with water. The highest percent you can get with distillation techniques is somwhere around 95%. To get a higher percent ethyl alcohol you have to use other solvents to ‘dry it out’. Those solvents aren’t usually great things to have, even if they’re just on your skin.

in order to have a ‘high confidence’ at 5 days, one would have to know the specific day and time that one had contact with an infected in order to determine when the 5 days commenced. Which would be kind of hard unless the contact person wears a magical neon sign, I became infected on... touch me! And it would rely on the person infected to actually seek medical attention at 5 days and be tested at 5 days. Which is when Most display symptoms but Most would think it was a cold and go beyond 5 days before seeking medical attention.

When other countries can get the test results back in 4-5 hours, there’s is NO reason the US can’t. That hospital could have had him wait in a room 5 hours instead of sending him home and now back again. How many did he infect by Monday? If the hospital didn’t take precautions themselves, well, there’s all those people who came in after him potentially catching it.
