ROCKLIN, Calif. (KMAX/KOVR/CNN) - Sacramento County Sheriff deputies and Rocklin Police, some wearing protective gloves, converged on a residential street Thursday as a sheriffs helicopter circled overhead, ordering people to get inside.

People who live there were unclear why. Officers eventually let them come and go from their homes.
It was later learned that the first California coronavirus patient to die from the illness lived on this block.
The Placer County Health Department issued a brief statement shortly after the police presence, stating: Law enforcement partners are currently responding to enforce a health officers order. We cannot share any additional information to protect patient confidentiality.
The orders were given under sections of California Health and Safety Code that allows Placer Health to enforce regulations requiring strict isolation, or quarantine if the action is necessary for the protection of the public health.
The timing of this health officer citing isolation and quarantine health codes order comes a day after Placer County Public Health announced the death of the 71-year-old man.
I understand the sensitivity of the situation, but of course more information is always better, said Justin Rodgers, who lives in Rocklin.
As a Rocklin family mourns their loved ones death, law enforcement are a presence on their block in an effort to contain a contagious disease.
At no point was anyone from the Placer County Health Department seen entering any homes, and the county is not saying if law enforcement will be required in the days ahead.

Why does this hysteria feel like a dry run for control?
Is that constitutional?
“Why does this hysteria feel like a dry run for control?”
I don’t trust politicians, or in general the egotistical people who walk the halls of government power. That said, I know viruses, and you should NOT doubt the danger of this one.
Why? Because it has killed a couple thousand if 7.5 billion people?
We didn't answer that question in Boston after one of the bombers was on the run.
Maybe we were being acclimatized.
“Why?”
For the same reason that you don’t jump into the enclosure of the lions at the zoo. It’s a dangerous virus, has characteristics that are very unique for respiratory viruses, and has the potential to kill many, many thousands more. Hopefully it won’t, and I’m not an alarmist in the least, but to not be vigilant about this virus is a bad choice. I hope it fizzles out, but we can’t bank on that. It’s not the end of the world, and it’s not going to put a big dent in human population on the planet, but it does have the capacity to cause a lot of misery.
This article makes no sense. Sacramento isnt in Placer County.

You can be vigilant without hysteria, without giving up your rights, or subjecting yourself to more government control. Precautions for anything like this are prudent, but this over-the-top fear mongering is as dangerous as any virus.
Very close to my home!
That question is no longer relevant in these troubled times.
The important question left is: "Are there any limits remaining as to what the Government will do?
Because they'll get contract the virus if they sit on a lawn chair or retrieve something from their car on the street?
Police telling me to stay inside is and invitation to sneak out. Just to defy them.
We do not live in a police state, and I will not comply.
Rocklin is in Placer county, but that begs the question, why was the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department involved?
One of my closest friends lives just outside of Rocklin.
I agree. I’m in Nevada County and this article is really goofed up. There is not much “who, what, when, where, why” as it is written.
We agree.
