#BREAKING: Peel Region has reported its first case of coronavirus, a man in his 60s who returned to Canada on Feb. 28 after being aboard the Grand Princess Cruise Ship out of San Francisco from Feb. 11-21. He is the 23rd coronavirus case in Ontario
Both my local supermarkets and the CVS have been out of sanitizer, rubbing alchohol and now also hydrogen peroxide all week. No apparent rush or crowds like the Costco’s have apparently been experiencing, however.
Also, I remember at Walgreens a store manager got in trouble from Loss Prevention for opening a bag of stuff to sell me individually. Had to do with their rewards program and I needed a cheap item to buy. So I bought it by the item instead of the bag.
Not even sure CVS loss prevention would allow what that store is doing with those masks
5 mil nitrile gloves at Harbor Frieght 7.00 per 100. Plenty in stock here in Zephyrhills, Fl.

The man believed to be coronavirus patient zero in Italy is a Pakistani migrant refused to self-isolate after testing positive for the virus and continued to deliver food.
Health authorities asked the man to quarantine himself at his home in the Pavia area for two weeks, but he ignored the request and continued to work at a Chinese restaurant.
He then compounded the risk of spreading the virus by making home deliveries of Chinese food. Authorities were alerted to the situation and the military intervened to return the man to his home.
The Carabinieri have been busy reconstructing all the movements of the young man, in order to identify as many people as possible with whom he came into contact. In the meantime, the military has closed the Chinese restaurant, reports Free West Media.
The migrant now faces up to 3 months in jail for failing to self-isolate under article 650 of the Italian penal code. Italy has recorded a total of more than 3,000 cases of the coronavirus and 148 people have died. The country was the primary source of the virus spreading to numerous other European countries.

An HSBC spokesperson said: “We have been informed that one of our employees has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
“We are deep cleaning the floor where our colleague worked and shared areas of the building.
Yesterday, a member of staff at accountancy firm Deloitte also tested positive for coronavirus and all staff were told to leave the building with immediate effect and work from home.

In a worrying development, medics believe the patient contracted the virus in the UK and health workers are scrambling to track down everyone that she had come in contact with.
So much irony/hypocrisy here. I would have thought the time for pulling out the stops would have been when China first quarantined 53 million people or earlier.

I’ll take Omaha for $1000 please Alex
This is what happens when you do half measures.
Now they will have to spend a fortune keeping him in quarantine in jail—and they will never be able to trace even half of the people he infected—not to mention all the people they infected etc etc etc
Wow
The local news had a segment on makeup. Said the samples at the counter are a no no (duh). Most will likely wear the same product as they always do.

Doctors will demand to be told what the plan is to cope with coronavirus when they meet with the chief health officer on Friday, as some raise concerns about their level of capacity and preparedness.
The federal government is holding a Covid-19 meeting with GPs and workers in primary care. While there have been 52 cases confirmed in Australia, with no sustained community transmission, new cases are identified every day. The source of infection is unclear in three cases.
The Sydney GP Richard Nguyen said he felt woefully unprepared for patients that may start coming to his practice with symptoms or for testing.
There has been a lack of communication, he said.
I dont know of any GP practices that would be capable of testing or seeing a suspected case. In our practice we have four consult rooms plus a procedure room. Wed have to dedicate one room as an isolation room. And then youd have to clean and disinfect the room logistically its just impossible for several reasons, including that we dont have the physical space.
The head of the Australian Medical Association, Dr Tony Bartone, said it was clear not enough information was being shared with frontline health workers including emergency doctors and general practitioners.
Houston Rodeo is this week and Austin Rodeo is next week. Getting nightly cleaning and hand washing stations have been brought in.
