A place to consolidate CoronaVirus Stories
Atlanta is called the Hub of the Southeast and their airport is very intl. They did host the Olympics one time after all.
Category errors are common in large organizations, where the wrong people are in the room for key decisions, because they don’t know what they don’t know.
In smaller organizations the CEO is more likely to seek independent advice in a crisis, because they know that their organization’s survival may be on the line.
True. Hadnt thought of that
Happens with “conspiracy theories”. truth buried with the rest
.
So, theres 2 type. The milder type S and the one that is most likely to send one to the intensive care unit L type.

San Francisco Announces First Local Cases of Coronavirus
The two patients, both hospitalized, appear to have been infected via community spread, according to the mayor’s office

The patients are unrelated and are being cared for at separate hospitals, the mayor’s office said. One is a man in his 90s who is said to be in serious condition. He has underlying health conditions. The second is a woman in her 40s who is listed in fair condition.
I think this is an example of the test kits being available.
Earlier in the week these cases would not have been identified.
Clearly SF is going to be a major problem area.

N.J. Patient Is Health-Care Worker (3:30 p.m. NY)
A coronavirus patient in Fort Lee, New Jersey, is a health-care worker with a residence in Manhattan, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The infection of health-care workers is of particular concern for two reasons: They could have contracted the disease from a patient, or they could have been around vulnerable people while sick. The patient, who hadnt traveled internationally, fell ill March 2 after attending a conference in New York City, the person said.
The patient sought care at a walk-in clinic in Bergen County, then was sent to Hackensack University Medical Center and placed in isolation, state Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli said at a news briefing. She also confirmed a second case in the state.

Went to Harris Teeter last night. Soap, like all the bars of hand soap were gone. Definitely pumped liquid hand soap were gone too. But, bars of soap. Ridiculous!
Went to Food Lion this morning and found fully stocked shelves of soap. Not sure what was going on at Harris Teeter.
We have two documented strains of this virus. The original strain or clade S-COV was manageable with a lower infection rate and complication rate. That strain morphed into L-COV on around 1/20/20 in Wuhan. Much more aggressive with more complications. They hope it burned out in Wuhan.
Now are we going to see more morphs ? Does Iran have L-COV ? Does Italy have a worse new strain ? Does Washington State have L-COV. Are newer strains or morphs going to be worse or weaker ?
Are these infected Chinese people in Orlando during Spring Break?
The Gov tells us about the infected in Tampa or Sarasota or Santa Rosa ?.

It was from a few days ago. Around the time Pence was assigned Czar.
My understanding of this is that the full range of mutations will happen. If they are too deadly they can’t spread too far—if they are too weak they don’t do anything.
The virus will probably be changing faster than we can track the changes—at least for a while.
TEXAS
HOUSTON Two people in northwest Harris County have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to Harris County Public Health.
The tests have been verified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
These cases are travel-related and, at this time, there is no evidence of community spread.
The man and woman live in the unincorporated area of northwest Harris County, outside the City of Houston..
Yes - thanks for the list and then bumping it.
I was looking at alternate types of disinfectents. Read up on the various ones. Alcohol destroys a virus pretty much on contact. Some of the other stuff they say to leave it on the surface for ten minutes. And I’m guessing not all of the products will have those specific instructions.
But if you google it “how long does lysol liquid surface cleaner take to kill a virus” and then look for CDC or other research type papers. Don’t look at things like Patty’s Prepper Blog for accurate information!
Huffpost created some Fake News / misquoting “President Trump suggested many people could still go to work and get better”.
It was at Food Lion where the shelves were all filled with sanitizer wipes, toilet paper.
I suspect we have folks who are having to set up different stocking schedules, maybe find different suppliers.
Some are learning faster than others.
But if you’ve got some sellers able to keep stocked and some not, there’s no freaking shortage as goes the hysteria.
I swear this thing is going to dissolve into ordinary life in a week or two.
But I could be wrong.
It’s been known to happen.
I'm really getting pissed at the apathy and the politicization. Trump is NOT helping this situation. He keeps trying to defend his record rather than just moving forward and keeping the eye on the ball.
Pence admitted earlier today that we don't have enough test kits to meet demand.
It's no bueno.
