British rock band Genesis have confirmed they are reforming for a 2020 tour -- their first in 13 years.

Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford made the announcement during an appearance on Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 breakfast show Wednesday morning.

Revealing details of their comeback tour, they said they will perform a series of shows across the UK later this year.

The trio -- the band's classic line-up -- will be joined by Collins' 18-year-old son Nicholas on drums and longstanding associate Daryl Stuermer on guitar and bass.

Yep. “Wind and Wuthering” was the last album with Steve Hackett, and the last “real” Genesis album IMHO. They went sort of bubble gum after that.

A friend of mine described it as “Earth, Wind and Phil.”

Have never understood the attraction of concerts. Have been to one in my life ... meh.
On the other hand, one of my sons (47 y/o) has probably been to 200+ and still goes!

“I saw Genesis in Atlanta. At the Omni, believe it or not. They had Chester Thompson as a second drummer.”

Interesting. When I hear the name Chester Thompson I think of the keyboard player for Tower of Power who eventually went on to playing for Santana.

One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Dallas ... Reunion Arena ... maybe 1987ish? That was one heck of a show. Especially when Phil Collins and Chester Thompson started banging on the drums for what seemed like almost half an hour.

This Chester Thompson is a drummer, played with Zappa for a while.

I hear ya...personally, I just can't see paying hundreds of dollars that they now charge for concerts.

As always, there's an exception to every rule. Last September, I plunked down about $150 for a ticket to Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival, in Dallas. It would have cost me double, but no family members wanted to go with me...lol.

I've been to some great concerts, but this one was off the charts. It lasted 8 hours, with an incredible array of performers. Los Lobos, Buddy Guy, Doyle Bramhall II, Tedeschi Trucks Band, to name a few.

A lasting memory is Clapton taking the guitar solo with Los Lobos' "Made to Break Your Heart." Bill Murray was worth the price of admission as the emcee for the event.

Yeah! Because Phil is left handed, it was a perfect mirror image.

Just saw this!

After seeing Phil’s condition on his recent solo tour, I’m not sure how this is going to work.

Hopefully Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett can make some appearances.

i saw Genesis a half dozen times from 1978 through 1986...great band..

Collins is a high maintenance “artist”...his poor health comes from having accidents as a result of drinking to much..

I’m not one of those who believes Genesis died when Gabriel left.

A Trick of the Tail is still my favorite, with The Lamb a close second.

But Duke had some great songs on it (not the two songs that were played on the radio constantly, but the rest of the album was great)

Anyone who drums for Zappa has to be good.

I want to see Steve Hackett’s “Genesis Revisited” Tour, although from the videos I’ve seen of it, I don’t particularly care for the singers he uses.
