RALEIGH, N.C. A man in Wake County has tested positive for coronavirus, Gov. Roy Cooper said Tuesday. It is North Carolinas first case of the new illness.
The man is in isolation at home, Cooper said, and "is doing well."
"Weve been preparing for this, and we do expect to see more cases in North Carolina," Cooper said. "We are working closely with health care providers and others to quickly identify and respond to new cases."
The patient recently traveled to Washington state and was exposed to a longterm care facility that has had numerous cases of coronavirus, or COVID-19.

Oh wow. Stay inside??? Just kidding - Actually you would have to be in the plane or maybe in the airport to have been exposed to the man’s illness.
Bottom line is, however, that Governor Cooper can’t get by just saying the guy is recovering well and is self-quarantined...... he has to do more about either testing or quarantining the man’s fellow passengers and other associates, IMHO.
Hmmm. Glad they weren’t out of the TP and water - yet. Give it time. ANd glad you managed to get the soap refill bottles....better than nothing.
Food lion had plenty this afternoon. I’ve already prepped, but worried about tp, so went out this afternoon to get more.
I have underlying health issues so I have to be a bit more careful than the average person might be. Ive been implementing my regular winter protocol because I dont get flu shots. I limit my exposure to people and wash my hands regularly. I keep a well-stocked pantry anyway and just taking reasonable measures for someone with medical issues.
Good idea. Hopefully this latest news will not prompt panic buying but it’s just prudent to have some supplies on hand - for whatever emergency that we might have - like spring tornadoes like Nashville had....for instance....
You sound like you have your head on straight.
Good that you know and follow a regular winter protocol.
Stay safe and hope none of this nasty stuff gets anywhere near you!
Wash the hands, people. Cover coughs and sneezes. Avoid closed in crowds. Don’t panic.
It does sound like assisted living facilities and nursing homes may be at risk for high rates of infection.

I think the key words were “identifiable” and “at the time”.
They are just saying there was no way anyone could have known.
Seriously, haha! a Christmas present from my loving daughter! :-)
LOL.
“A big question: Did this guy know about the ChiCom Virus in that nursing home, and he still got on an airplane and flew to your home state???”
The answer would be no according to the timeline.
Almost out in ashburnVa.
you think everyone on that plane should be tested?
You live in Libtard land.
Concord is fine.
Not good news for those trying to push COVID-19 as some new pandemic!
Most people recover from this! I believe there are only 3,202 deaths from COVID-19!
you think everyone on that plane should be tested?
First, what is his health status?
Then, your governor and his health team need to make that decision.
These are hard decisions to make based on actual history and status not articles in the media and discussions on the internet.
Which is why they need to use the new CDC tests to determine the real status of patients /suspected carriers. Then develop protocols to determine how different patients/suspected patients should be managed.
Hi neighbor. I am down in Harnett.
Sleep helps too.
I think they should all be tested, and the plain disinfected. And the man needs to give a history of everywhere he went since getting off the plane, and everyone he encountered, as best as he can remember.
Hi there.
How did the primary elections go for you there?
