What?
Of the 25 first responders in the Kirkland nursing home, 19 became ill and are under home quarantine.
Aerosolized can do that.
I doubt that density of transmission would occur over wet cough and sneezes. Maybe. Doesn’t seem likely.
Yes, I just read that in an article. Well, as stated, if there is some recent evidence suggestive of aerosol transmission, it makes working from home and other steps to reduce exposure more relevant.
closing that casino will hurt their bottom line, but they have no choice....

Only 93% for someone my age and I’m not that old.
And I’d really miss 7% of my friends.
Yes, the viral load in that nursing home has to be huge.
Sounds like aerosol - wouldnt it be better to assume it is?
Thats my thinking. You dont know much about the disease, you start at worst case scenario and relax the standards when theres sufficient data that its safe.
“Stock market is up 1,000 points today. Odd thing to happen if this bug is just getting started. “
Classic bear market rally, suckers’ rally. Could last a bit.
sick employees in nursing homes or even hospitals do not call in very much when they are sick.....the management will council you about you using your sick time and if you run out of sick time, and you call in sick, you are basically fired....that is why sickly employees come to work...they have to....
“Sounds like aerosol - wouldnt it be better to assume it is?”
And humans are the host organism.
Considering we have widespread community transmission in SK, Italy, Iran and now some areas of the US, one should assume Japan has it too until proven otherwise. Only Singapore has kept it in check. Japan unfortunately got cabbies and uber’s infected transporting Diamond Princess passengers.
It depends on the environment.
In a closed one the virus would be transmitted, sure.
In an environment with air circulation, not so sure. But near objects would be infected on their surface nonetheless.
you can’t control the spread of this disease or any virus for that matter.....we take all these flu precautions and yet we still get the flu....almost all of us live, however.....
Snap, I think I see. Is it a Pavlov dog kind of thing?
Video from Iran showed hacking. Every 2 seconds on average. Guy sitting collapsed on ground waiting for ambulance.
Makes sense. Every serious cluster weve seen have been in these confined areas - cruise ship, hospitals, nursing homes, jails. Probably schools, but the kids seem to carry it with zero symptoms.
I have several of those symptoms ALL THE TIME.....
The societal impact of a general realization of an aerosolized and deadly virus would be big.
Think it takes out the soft targets first, quickly, then the more healthy people stand up to it. Then in some cases, where people had recovered enough to be out in public, they collapse within a matter of seconds. Could be it was designed for a specific class of targets or conversely perhaps its immunity was incorrectly or partially turned off for a class.
