you mean those critters with a staff large enough to consolidate daily headlines into a briefing in an hour or less? But they’d rather get face time on TV? yup, those idiots. Makes one wonder what their staff actually does besides schedule the Friday night cocktail circuit.
Walmart’s foods are higher than the grocery store but will grocery shop there if I’m there to get something that isn’t food due to mileage. There are 3 grocers within driving distance in opposite directions but I’m sticking to the one (the crappy one) that is the farthest from the big city. The other two have too many people commuting into the city.
Canned veg at the grocery store are .48 but WM is half again and more. Weekly ad has bone in pork roasts for $1.29 which is a regular sale price. But it’s Venezuela style empty shelves so you get what you can because it won’t be there tomorrow. They went 6 months without canned tomatoes. I usually snag the last one or two items off the shelf and make them go to the back to find something. Since the end of Jan., I’ve found only 4 small hand sanitizers scattered over several trips. This last trip was the first they’ve had Lysol but had to get 2 blue labels and one purple label. Had to dig through the canned corn to find 12 that weren’t dented and rusted. A couple weeks prior they finally had cornmeal but just 3 of the little tiny packages - yes, they’re now in the pantry.
Maybe someone here will know how prevalent they are?
The CDC would never have admitted that if it hadn't been for Pence.
I have a typo in that, the CDC notes are 16% serious (not fatal), other sources say 14% fatal, Black Agnes posted
He is the only reason they are testing.

What did I miss, video or news link?
12 quarantined Kirkland firefighters showing ‘flu-like’ symptoms
by KOMO News Staff
Tuesday, March 3rd 2020
KIRKLAND, Wash. — Twelve of 30 firefighters and police officers in Kirkland who have been quarantined after potential or direct exposure to the COVID-19 virus at the city’s LifeCare facility are now showing “flu-like” symptoms, according to city of Kirkland officials.
The 30 all had been quarantined after they had responded to calls at the LifeCare Facility in the days before and during an outbreak of COVID-19 that was discovered at the center. At least five patients connected to the center have died and more remain sickened.
One firefighter has been released from quarantine after completing their 14-day period while 26 firefighters and three police officers remain.

Wally-World has something I’m not seeing at other discount groceries: Low or no salt canned veggies, typically at ~$.50 for a std. size 15 oz. (approx.) can. Good for people who should reduce their sodium intake - which is a lot of us. This lineup must be popular, because it seems to be gradually expanding.
ground the flights....
Seattle is one of the three (or four?) west coast enhanced screening airports. Closing the field means extra pressure on Calif. Washingtonians aren’t going to be mean to Californians are they? I hope they don’t forget we provide all those avocados for their morning toast...
>>Yep....only...why WA, NY and CA as first epicenters?
It’s due to the density of Asian air travelers in January 2020 and American vacationer’s in Northern Italy in February.
Homemade electrolyte water = 1/2 teaspoon salt into a liter of water.
I would be fine with grounding flights to any city near 2-3 cases. And shutting schools and public gatherings.
I would not be a very popular president, or governor.
I guess if we are going on a diet soon the low salt thing is a benefit.

IF this was the real thing, all those people would be in big trouble.

Wow that this higher then the Spanish Flu.
Anyone low on vitamins better get them yesterday.
Lots of empty vitamin and cough medicines out of stock at both nearby small towns’ Walmart and grocery. Sunday, had to get the last sugar laden gummy Vit C at Wallyworld. Thought I had enough but wanted just one more regular C for the sick dog and he turned his nose up at the gummies (smart dog). Zero D3, turmeric and others. But the rest of WM was well stocked.
Last Monday, grocery store vitamins were picked over - No turmeric, C, D3 or multi-vit. They’d steadily been going down the past month.
