Today’s Cryptogram

Posted on 03/02/2020 4:14:18 AM PST by nikos1121

Today’s CG from The Arkansas Gazette.

D ZDVH JUEV: DG IFBADPFGHB YH. D AFP BDG FPX ZUUV FG DG IUE MUTEB. ---QHEUYH V. QHEUYH

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

About 4 minutes... a couple false starts and then I was off and running.

It’s still better than sitting in a meeting. I recognized the quip right away, sort of guessed it right off the bat. Never heard of the author.

1 min. 1st word gives first 2-letter word, gives the other 2-letter word, then a 4-letter word with the 2nd & 3rd letters the same, off to the races.

Sounds like something Groucho Marx would’ve said.

Nice. Strangely hard, despite the many short words!
