Hillary spent something like $1 billion in 2016 and Trump something like 6 or 8 hundred million. Bloomy could run for a hundred years or more in theory and not even use up half his wealth. His age however suggests this might be his only shot.

I know a guy who was responsible for one of the many bloomberg programs on the Bloomberg Terminal that helped make his company...way back when. Not the coding. The idea that was put into the coding for traders to use.
I have no stories to tell about him...other than to say BLoomberg has lived the American Dream.
I have to respect it.
But he has zero charisma to run for President.

Well that is okay. Not trying to do anything illegal. Just trying to keep all my info from being sold.
I think it would be pretty easy if I committed an illegal act with it to track down where I bought it and how I paid for it since it wasn’t cash. Home depot lets you buy prepaid cards with their home depot card.
But retailer XYZ is not going to be able to get that info when he sells my info all over the world.
I have seen some crazy things go down with one of the Nom De plumes I used to buy something online after it was sold. I have even had people try to open credit with one. Really not sure how that worked since they wouldnt have my social security number
I am not certain how fine the idea is. That $100 can disappear into anyone's pocket anywhere along the line.
Take the $100 bill and buy a money order with it. Fill out the money order to: "Donald Trump Presidential Campaign" and mail it in. It can only be deposited in his campaign that way.
Not that you would get busted, but I would bet they have some law that would make any concealment of a payment or transfer of funds illegal. And trying to do it with Trump might just increase your exposure these days. Don’t forget, as far as we know they haven’t pulled his FISA, so he is still under full surveillance off a hop from Carter Page, and they get another hop to put you under full surveillance if you ever deal with him.
Plus, without going into too much detail of my own circumstances, I can tell you that you should never do anything these days under the assumption you are not being watched, no matter how minor you are. If you are here, things may not work the way you think, for you.
If you send something to the White House, it becomes property of the US GOVT.

One could thus, effectively, donate $100 million, without leaving a paper trail.

It is possible, those small donations are from people who have donated a sum more than $200. Some people agree to monthly credit card payments, for example.

I’m sure some here would be willing to take money and donate it the way you wanted to make it happen - and could probably come up with a way to demonstrate they didn’t use it for beer and pizza.
I’d be willing to do so as I have no problem with folks/authorities knowing who I donate to...
I *used* to donate well.
I still pay the price by being on every call list for every candidate, although I quit donating 8-10 years ago.
It isn’t that I do not want to support certain candidates, it is because it is impossible to
get them to quit calling you.
I will never donate again to a candidate, although I would like to in order to support their candidacy.
